Hello! I need some help here. I am booking today with AAA for a package to Disney for December. I only need to put down the insurance money and $200 deposit according to AAA. However, I want to pay for the trip with my Disney Visa. Do I have to pay for it all now to get the 6 month no payment deal, or once the bulk of the trip gets charged to it, will it go into effect from that date forward. I appreciate any help you can give!:confused3

They will be able to answer that question.
I would assume you would need to pay the full amount but I am not certain.:confused3

Make sure that AAA books directly through Disney. That is how you qualify for the 0%. You can pay the deposit now and have 6 months to pay that off and then pay the balance when it is due and a new 6 months starts from that date for the balance, as long as it is booked through WDTC.

yes you do
I've book through AAA twice and I've gotten the 0% for 6 months
It will show up on your bill under promotions

Is it only if you pay for it all at once? Visa is saying I won't get it since I am booking through AAA and not Visa... I am so sad and frustrated!

I'd like to know this too. What does the 0% for 6 months apply to - the deposit, the final balance payment or both? If it's one or the other, perhaps pay the deposit with another card or cash, then use Disney Visa for the final balance payment to get the 0% on that large amount.

The 0% applies to both (and any payments made along the way, I believe). The charges will appear on your statement under promotions and will state an expiration date, which is 6 months from whatever date each and every charge was made. I've always booked directly through Disney, so I'm not sure if the 0% is eligible through AAA or any other TA. Other posters have stated in different threads that it must be booked through Disney to get the 0% for 6 months, but I can't confirm or deny that since I've never booked through anyone other than Disney and the special financing has always automatically appeared on my statement.

I've done this twice, and on my current trip (not paid for yet) the $200 deposit came through with the 0% financing. It works.

AAA just is the handler really, and the financing deal works because Disney is getting your money directly, and that's all the matters. The charge on your Visa shows Disney as the vendor, not AAA. That'll get you the 0% financing for six months from the time the charge goes through.

I want to clarify--

You can go to AAA and book a package. Give the AAA agent your Disney Visa number. The AAA agent books it for you. On your statement from Chase, you'll have a "promotions" part which will include the amount for the package you booked. The vendor (or whatever it's called) is going to say Walt Disney World Resort (or something like that). It will not say AAA, but you will have booked through AAA because you're using AAA as the travel agent. You will get the six month 0% financing this way. I've done it twice, and it's worked both times, and it's worked on the deposit for my third trip, so I'm sure it'll work for the balance which I'll be paying in a few weeks.

Enjoy your trip!

Even though you are booking with a AAA TA, you are paying Disney, not AAA. I always pay with my Visa Check Card, because I get rewards, and when it shows up on my acct, it says Walt Disney World (Travel Company)or Disney Destinations, something like that, not AAA. Sometimes these agents don't know what they are talking about, so I do what I know was right in the past.

I just paid my deposit and got my visa bill today. I used an online travel agency to book my trip..but they book through Disney Travel which I'm guessing is what AAA probably does. I didn't have to do anything, it just showed up as a promotional item on my bill and gave me 6 months to pay it without interest..it shows the date it's due. I'm assuming that when i pay off the trip it will qualify automatically also and give another 6 months to pay that part of it off. Last year I couldn't do it though with the card because I had paid the deposit on another card before I got my Disney Visa and they wouldn't qualify the remainder without the deposit having been paid on the disney visa.

For our recent trip in April, 2008, which we booked in October, 2007 through AAA, the initial deposit of $200 (we waited on the trip insurance and added it when we paid the balance in full) and the balance, which we paid in full in February, 2008 (to make sure the Disney Visa reward dollars posted in time to use them in April), both qualified for the 0% interest promo and both showed up on our bill as separate line items (under promos down below, as other have stated)......

Since AAA books through Disney, would I be able to use reward points toward a trip booked with AAA? Or do I have to go direct with Disney for that?

If I have $400 promotion bal and $400 regular bal, and I make a $400 payment, what does it get applied too?

In response to Denman - the $400 applies to the regular balance. In response to Lismama - Disney rewards points can be used thru AAA. I have done this several times in both situations. And as recently as 4 weeks ago. I am leaving next Friday for Disney...yeah for me!!!

I have a Disney Visa and am curious now, I am going to pay my balance through AAA in a few weeks and put that on my Disney Visa, I did not put the deposit of $200 on my Disney Visa, so am I understanding this correctly that if I did not put my desposit on the card then when I put the balance on the card I will not get the 0% financing for 6 mos. Need clarification.......

Woo hoo! That makes things SO much easier!

In your experience, will the AAA travel agent know what I'm talking about in terms of rewards points, or will it take some explaining/prodding?

Thanks :)

I just explained it to the AAA agent and everything went A-Okay. No problems at all. Just be sure to make it all clear to the agent first...maybe have her repeat it back to you. I just gave her my disney rewards card number and told her how much to use on it and then the balance was to be paid on the Disney Visa. Hope it all works for you also.
