I just called to make ADRs for our Grand Gathering Jan 5-12. (90 days)
I tried forCP, Mama Melrose's and CRT. I got all-BUT our party of 10 has to sit at 2 different tables at all but Mama Melrose's, and there we have to eat at 4:10!! Should I be calling a different # b/c we have so many people, or is this what I'm stuch with? We are only planning on these 3 meals together (to allow for some time away from one another!) and I hate the thought of splitting up the tables. What fun is that? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I kept the ADRs that they could give me, in case that's all I could get,but I'm pretty dissapointed.

I can't offer much help, but wanted to sympathize with you on ADRs. I made ours today for our trip Jan 2-7. I was very surprised that there were so few times available for certain restaurants. I'm going to keep trying, but I feel let down. I never imagined that there would be limited availability in January.

Something is up with Mama Melrose's. There were threads earlier this week/weekend about people being told that MM is only open until 5:00 p.m. I have had a terrible time getting a Fantasmic dinner package there and was told that nothing was available after 5:00 p.m. whether Fantasmic package related or not.

Keep what you have and keep asking. It never hurts to ask up until you are seated.

If you call for a group of 10 or more you have to go through group dining. I had to make dining ressies for 16 last August and it's a real challenge. They told me that we MAY be split up, but we only were in a couple of cases, usually they managed to seat us all together. It's really not a big deal, even if you're at different tables, they put you right next to each other, we still were able to talk to everyone without a problem. Also, they told me with a group as large as ours, we could only book either the first seating of the day or the last.

Keep what you have but keep trying. They don't release later dining times at MGM until the park hours are close to being released. I called today to get Hollywood & Vine for Christmas week at 6pm & the CM said "since they don't know what time fantasmic is yet they haven't released later times....oh wait they just made a liar out of me, they are out". So I got what I asked for but even the CM seemed surprised. Even if you don't get a better time, Kirstin's Mommy is right about the fact that they may not split you up. I booked some ADR's for a party of 8 & we were told by the CM that they couldn't seat us together at a few of the restaurants but when we got to the restaurants, there was no problem. I think it is just the way the computer allows the CM's to book the ADR's over the phone but they will go out of their way to put you together if they can. Good Luck!

Our party of 10 was split up twice last year, but both times we ended up with tables right next to each other.

I know they have a special breakfast at Tony's at the Magic Kingdom just for grand gatherings. It is held certain days and it is a character breakfast and it also includes a private picture with Mickey for your group. I had to provide my grand gatherings number when I called. There were other options such as a wishes cruise, a safari and dinner at Animal Kingdom and lastly a dinner and viewing of illuminations at EPCOT. Have a great trip.

Try O'Hana - we had 20 people once, and they were able to accomodate us, and we had a blast!
