This morning, I was looking at the Disney website and was seriously thinking about taking a 3 day cruise before I meet up with my friends for our Disney holiday in late August, early September. I popped in the dates and was surprised to see that they only had 4 day cruises for the dates I was interested in. Then, the price for a 4 day cruise was $2400 for the lowest priced room. This was just for the cruise itself, not the package. Please tell me that this had to be a mistake. Was I inputting something incorrectly? Are the cruises normally this expensive? I cannot see this being the case.
Anyways, any advice for me on looking for better deals would be muchly appreciated.
Thanks, J

From what I understand this is how pricing works. The closer you get to the sailing date, and depending on capacity, the price gets higher. An example we just got off a 7 day, Easter (peak), booked 1 year 8 months ago and the prices a month before the cruise went up $1200 for the same room.

Since you are looking at the tail end of summer holidays you may be still looking at somewhat premium prices.

Also check to see if you selected airfare, insurance and transfers. If you did it might impac the price.

BTW: a word of caution, Disney is higher than most cruise lines, but you get what you pay for...

Disney does a 3 night and then a 4 night every week on the Wonder. You didn't mention how many people or the date you wanted for sure but I looked up on cruise.com and found on August 26th (my birthday LOL) the Wonder does a 3 day cruise. If you just wanted an inside cabin with no airfare and with 2 people in the room it would be a total for 2 people of $1318 including port charges. Now if you are single going alone I think the price increases because it's single occupancy instead of double.

For the 4 night wonder the 1st week in September leaving on Sept 5th it would be for 2 people a total of $1134 including port charges and taxes. I think until the first of September the rates are higher because of Labor Day and kids not being in school for good until after labor day.

I looked at the August 29th date on All Seasons site.
You don't say how may of you there are in a cabin, what class of cabin you're looking at.
For 2 people in a Category 9 (with porthole) it would be $1564 including all taxes and fees.
That is a four day cruise.
There are so many variables as to number of passengers in your group, category of cabin that without that it is hard to comment with any degree of certainty on your situation.
You can go to here and look at the four day prices til the end of August to give you an idea.

Cheers,
Grumbo

It would be just me on the cruise, a solo traveller. I probably included the airfare, but will look again. I know that Disney is always a little higher, but I was honestly a little taken back. I will try again and see what numbers I get.
Thanks alot everyone.
The dates that I need to go on the cruise would be Aug 19 or Aug 26 (either one of those, either a 3 day or 4 day cruise). I do not want a fancy room (in fact, I know I will never be in the room to enjoy it). I cannot any more be flexible with my dates because I am a student and need to back for university by the 7th and I am meeting my friends in the Orlando airport on the 30th, therefore any dates before or after those will not work.
Anyways, I will continue checking and ensure that I have all the correct information inputted. I am also waiting for a quote from Dreams Unlimited.
Thanks,
J

We were looking at the August 28th Magic and by switching to the September 4th, there was a price difference of about $2000 for a family of 5. All of August is still considered high season for sailings.

Don't forget that you are paying a premium of 175% for your "selfish desire to cruise alone". The single supplement is one reason you don't see too many singles on DCL or, in fact, many other cruises...It's the price you pay for not trolling the streets for a cruising companion....
