I am going to be going to DLR in September for 5 days. Not crazy long but that's all the time we can take off work, and we're going to jam pack this vacation with so many fun and exciting things! There are so many things at DLR we've never done so this time I'm planning on eating at all the good places, watching shows we never usually make the time for, and staying onsite for one night for the first time. I am crazy excited and this trip with my lovely fiance! :goodvibes Here's the outline.

Saturday Sept 10, 2011: Leave early in the am from AZ to DLR. We are considering leaving at night Friday and staying at a cheap hotel so we can use our MM. Anywho, we'll check in at the Grand California Hotel, hopefully getting a room early, otherwise we'll check in our bags. Then head to the parks for a while then relax in our resort because this is our only night here!

Sunday: Check out early, check in at Clarion. Leave for Seaworld. I am trying to make this trip very special. I want to have an animal interaction but here is where I need help planning. Seaworlds website is not working or something because no matter what I do I can't find a price for anything! Thinking about doing any of the three animal interactions. There is a beluga interaction, dolphin interaction or dolphin encounter. Need help figuring out which one I should do for my trip! I like dolphins, but would also like to know what exactly you do when you do the beluga encounter. And the price! Where are the best places to eat?

Monday: Will be at DLR all day. Build-a-Bear most likely on this day if not Saturday. Eating at nice places we've never eaten.

Tuesday: Same as Monday, DLR all day. Seeing shows, and eating good food from somewhere all fancy. :lmao:

Wednesday: we're leaving, but are spending a half day at the parks. :)

TIA for any help! Help make our 5 year anniversary (and our last anniversary as two "single" people) something we'll remember forever! :lovestruc

What kind of food do like?

We really enjoy the Napa Rose - though it is more oriented towards adults / gourmet tastes.

As far as DLR/CA - do not miss Toy Story Mania, if you've not seen it. One of my faves..

The new Little Mermaid ride should be open by then - a favorite for the younger set I'm sure.

The steakhouse is equally awesome ( at the DLH ) - but if you do the Rose - call ADR and ask for the Chefs counter, you can eat right in front of the kitchen, you get to watch the food being made & served ( 110% professionals ), they will prepare you a tasting menu from the evenings selections.. awesome!!!

The entire staff is awesome, though we do have some favorites - ask for Saucy or Wendy!

Joy is in charge of wine service - knows her stuff! Most of ( if not all ) of the staff have been trained as sommeliers and it shows..

The Executive Chef - Andrew Sutton - rocks, plain & simple, the rest of the staff are winners, some awarded, some not (yet) and could be multiply starred chefs in their own right...

Napa Rose doesn't seem like something we would enjoy, there are only a few things on the menu and they just don't seem worth the money to us. Steakhouse 55 DOES seem very good and we will most likely eat there. Maybe Storyteller's Cafe. I know a lot about DLR for the most part, but I really know nothing about Seaworld! So I need help planning that more than anything!:)

Sea World is great. You should be able to find everything you need on their website. FYI, the Beluga Whale Interaction where you actually don wet suits and get in with the whales is $190 each. September dates are not available yet as I can tell. Also, Dining with Shamu is really cool as you get close to see the killer whales.

The shows are great! Of course, you have to see the Shamu show, but I personally think the Seymore and Clyde Sea Lion Show is worth the price of admission to the park. September hours aren't available yet, but will probabaly be 10:00 to 7:00 or so.

Ohh this makes me so excited! I think I might be more excited about this than anything! I've been to DLR soo many times and although I love it to death and can't go to Cali without at least stopping by, I really have been wanting to go to Seaworld for quite some time! I have always loved water and all of the animals that live in it. :lovestruc Maybe I'm in the wrong field! :confused3

Close to $200 each is expensive, but it will be something that I never forget, and will cherish forever so I can justify that cost. Is there a place where my fiance could just stand and watch and get pics of me? He will have to show some major excitement for me to dish out $190 for his interaction! :rotfl: I finally got an email from them, and they said my dates weren't available because you can only book 3 months in advance! YAY! I thought they weren't doing any of it then! Now the question is should I swim with the dolphins or the belugas....? :goodvibes

Thanks for the info!!:flower3:

We did an Adventure Camp at Sea World last June with my daughter's girl scout troop. We slept in the Wild Artic exhibits with the Beluga Whales. It was so cool (no pun intended)! There are other places where you can swim with dolphins, but I don't know of any others where you can interact with a Beluga. I don't know if they allow observers, but you can ask.

Ok, so that sounds like a good idea. I'm soooo excited! 179 days left to go! Hahah.
