Need HELP Planning Days??

We fly into Onterio,Ca Jan.1,03 at 11am so Dl will probably be closed by the time we arrive. So,I was thinking of going to Universal that day but I can't even find out if they are open??

Jan 2 and 3 DL is open till midnight

Jan.4 We have added another day to visit relatives.

Then Jan.5 they close at 10pm

Then Jan. 6,7 Dl closes at 8pm

So,what are must do's, must see's on Jan.2 and 3?? Are there special night time things we should do?? Are there any morning things we should save to do on the 6 and 7??

Since I *think* the holiday things start going down around the 6th, I would say must-sees for the 2nd and 3rd would be It's A Small World Holiday (day and night if you can arrange it, or at least see the Small World Mall at nights -- it's kinda like a mini-Osborne Lights), Haunted Mansion Holiday, and Believe In Holiday Magic fireworks (once from the Main Street area, once from Small World Mall)

Other than that, it's really best to just take it by ear. I'm not sure how the crowds are going to be since I've never been during that week, but I typically let the crowds dictate to me what we're doing when at Disneyland.

Small world lit up at night is breathtaking. THe whole area surrounding it was beautiful.
We saw both the fireworks and parade at DL and also the electrical parade at DCA. All were worth seeing.

If you have small kids or like the rides go to Toontown, Fantasyland and Bugs Land EARLY EARLY EARLY. Since they have no fasspass the lines get very long very quickly. Get a spot for the fireworks while the rest of the group walks, shops or gets some hot cocco. The nicest place IMHO to watch was in front of Small World. Have fun!!
