We are only doing 1 AK day with a 2 year old. We have Chef Mickey’s dinner planned for that night. I’m soo torn on lunch since I want to try Yak & Yeti and Satu’li Canteen. Those bowls look soo good! Yak & Yeti looks soo good too! I’m so torn. Chef Mickey’s is a must so def need to do that. Which would you choose for lunch. Chef Mickey’s would be a later dinner, like around 7pm. TIA!

That choice for me would come down to do you want a QS meal or a TS meal? And where do you plan to be within AK? AK is a big park. If you hit Pandora in the morning it could be annoying to have to trudge all way back for lunch.

Satuli has good food and mobile order. We love both Satuli Canteen and Yak and Yeti but if we have to do just one, I think Satuli is hard to beat for value.

For another option, I’ve heard very good things about Tusker House, which would give you almost the same characters as Chef Mickey but better food. I didn’t care for Chef Mickey. The characters were cute but it was very loud and the food was meh.

Both are good, but simply for the convenience and a quick lunch I would choose Satu'li. Maximize your park time.

We love both Yak & Yeti and Satu’li Canteen. We usually grab a bowl at Satu’li but this past trip we ventured over to Harambe Market and loved it! The Chicken Rice Bowl beat Satu’li and we also enjoyed the Savory Tanzanian Pie.

Yes, I had the same reaction when I went to Harambe Market (and if I remember, I also got the chicken-rice bowl. I'd planned to eat there again last week, but the weather....needed the warmth of indoor dining.

Honestly - it's not on your list but for me Animal Kingdom means Flame Tree BBQ. If I'm eating in that park, it is my only choice.

As you can see,,,many wonderful choices at AK, and they never even mentioned Nomad lounge. AK is one park that has great food all around, hard to go wrong.

If you need to do chef Mickey instead of Tusker, I also would do Nomad. They have more items than listed on the website. Great chance to luxuriate, as Molly and Alan say, and sit by the river. Otherwise, I would do Satuuli. The cheeseburger pods, with the creamy herb and some mustard mixed in for dipping are a must do at some point in the trip.

Another vote for Satu'Li. Flametree is very good, but too heavy for what we enjoy for lunch. So many good options at Satu'Li.

If you are going to Chef Mickey's for dinner, I'd definitely do a quick service meal for lunch. You don't want to be too full from a sit down meal at lunch to enjoy dinner at CM's (especially with what it costs). I am not a fan of Satuli, but we have had good food at Y&Y take out, as well as Flame Tree (where we'll share a platter if we have dinner plans).

We always have lunch at Yak & Yeti on our AK day. We like to be able to sit down in the air conditioning and relax. And the food is so good there, we look forward to it every trip. But we also don't book evening dinners, we prefer to have our main meal as a late lunch and then have a lighter dinner.

We loved Satu'li Canteen! Those noodle bowls are amazing! Didn't get a chance to try the cheeseburger pods but I hear they are really good. I just find that that place offers something different than your typical chicken tenders and burgers you know?

That being said - where will you be in the park around lunch time? It worked for us because we started by doing the safari early morning, did some animal trails, then the Lion King show. After the show we back tracked back to Pandora, did FOP then had lunch.
