We are on the DxDP and originally were going to head over to the Grand Floridian Cafe for lunch one day and The Wave another day while touring the MK. We really don't like counter service but have been hearing negative comments recently regarding these two resturants for lunch. Where would you go if you had two choices for lunch? Help! I'm a newbie.

Here is what we have already planned:

B,L,D Kona
L-Biergarten
D-Raglan Road
B-Wave
D-Aloha
B-Crystal Palace
D-Narcoossee's
L-SciFi
D-Flying Fish
L-Yak&Yeti
D-Rose and Crown
L-Chefs de France
D-Whispering Canyon
D-Ohana
B-Grand Floridian Cafe
D- LeCellier
L-Prime Time Cafe
D-CA Grill
L-Teppan Edo

We are hoping to have lunch somewhere convienant to the MK, but not necessarily in the park. Any help would be great!

Maybe I'll get brave enough to post a review later...

Well i havent heard bad things about either of those places for lunch- so I'd go w/ one of them.
Sorry i don't have any more ideas. Just all your stuff sounds pretty good as is :-)

I really like the Grand Floridian Cafe and honestly, you can't beat the resort itself for a nice, relaxing break. The variety of food is excellent. I think GFC is one of those hidden gems that most people never try. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Last year we had lunch at the Grand Floridian Cafe when we were on the DxDP and it was great. I had the GF burger that had lobster and asparagus on it. Don't remember what DH had but he did like it. I'd definately eat there again.

I see you are doing Crystal Palace for breakfast. You could add a lunch as well. The food is really good.

I've also read good things about lunch at Liberty Tree Tavern.

One more thought....
How about doing a 2TS like Cali. Grill or Cinderella's Castle?

Thanks for all the wonderful advice! I'm glad to hear some good things about the Grand Floridian Cafe. I think we'll eat there after all. Liberty Tree sounds like a good one as well.

My kids are too old and don't care about Cinderella's Castle. I wouldn't mind trying it but would hate to take some little girl's spot who's dying to go.:cutie:

I think you'll be happy at the Grand Floridian Cafe. We've never had a bad meal there. But, otherwise, I am a big fan of the Liberty Tree. The food is excellent and it's fun to be announced as "The W family from the great state of New York!"

Our family always makes time every trip to eat lunch at Liberty Tree Tavern. They have the most amazing pot roast there. Have a great trip!

We also love LTT for lunch - we have never done the dinner there because I dislike traditional Thanksgiving fare. We have always had great service there at lunch and the food is delicious!
We had dinner at GFC last trip and it was by far, the best meal of our trip (which included LeCellier which was horrible but everyone usually raves about the place). I would think that it would be good for lunch.

I'd definitely do the Liberty Tree Tavern for lunch one day and the GF Cafe the other. :thumbsup2 Seriously, the GF Cafe is totally under-rated! The food is delish and I love the cheery, bright amotsphere of the restaurant!:goodvibes You can always go to http://allears.net/din/dining.htm to check out the menus too!

:cool1:Liberty tree tavern is perfect for lunch--- our family favorite; and a perfect place in between the mts and fantasyland to wait for fastpass times :cool1:

There is another TS inside MK that I haven't seen mentioned here, but get wonderful reviews, The Plaza right on Main Street. A lighter meal with sandwich, burger or salad options and finished with wonderful desserts. Something like that won't be too heavy, will still give you a break, but you won't have to leave and re enter the park if you plan to spend more time in MK that day.

I would also stick with Grand Floridian cafe. I like escaping MK at lunch to eat at a resort and the GF is so pretty.

As others have said LTT would also be a nice choice. I haven't eaten there for along time, so Ican't comment on the food but we did like the atmosphere.

We just returned from our trip over Easter. We had lunch at the Granf Floridian Cafe and it was wonderful! It was a pleasant break from the park and we spent about 2 hours just hanging out at the beach area. Our 3 year old took a nap in one of the cabanas and my husband and I just relaxed and talked. I had a reuban andwich and my husband had the Grand Sandwich. They were both fantastic. I also had the tomato basil soup. It was yummy but a bit on the spicy side.

I also like LTT but we always prefer to get out of the parks when they are at their busiest so we prefer to go to a resort.:goodvibes
