Ok i need help. We are going on my sons second trip to disneyworld. Last time we went i missed a lot of great shots because my digital camera had such a bad delay on it. I am just wondering if anyone has any sugesstions on a point and shoot digital camera that does not have a delay. I will for sure be buying a new camera before our next trip I just need suggestions on what to buy. Thanks for any help.

I don't have a specific suggestion because there are just too many models out there. I would recommend looking at a website like dpreview.com. Make a list of options that you require and start making some comparisons. They have some good tools to do that. There are P & S' that are inexpensive and others all the way up to the price of an entry level DSLR. Another thing I would recommend is learning more about photography. A camera is a tool. The photographer makes it work. My youngest DD has an older P & S and just does phenomenal work that rivals many DSLR shooters. I have been pressing her to move up, but its just a matter of finances (she went back to grad school). I am a Pentax SLR/DSLR shooter for many years and have used P & S' from Kodak, Olympus, Canon and Pentax. In the right situation, they all have produced good results. Cameras today have come so far and all produce great images, IF used with some knowledge of photography.

Even high end point & shoot cameras have shutter lag. Well, actually it's not the shutter that lags, but the focusing mechanism. It's physically different from a DSLR, which is why none of them can take a photo as fast as a DSLR.

You may be able to reduce the shutter time if you can get your focus nailed before the shot, but there's still going to be a lag.
