My dh and I are escaping our kids and running away to Disneyland for a few days in September, we booked our flights and have our APs but now we need to find a place to stay. I would like the hotel to:

#1 I would like where we stay to be in short walking distance to the park, we have done the ART and I would prefer not to this time and being 5 months pg when we go I would like to go back for an afternoon nap easily.

#2 I would really like the hotel to have a free breakfast, cause we are a bit cheap and usually eat pretty simple when it comes to breakfast anyways and that way we can splurge more for lunch and dinner :cool1:

#3 I really would like it to be clean and the beds to be comfy, we dont really care about the pool and probably wont have a rental car so parking isnt a huge concern either.

Where can you think of that fits these? And thank you so much for all your help!!

Candy Cane. You can walk or take it's own shuttle. Good breakfast too from what I've heard.

All of the hotels on Harbor next to the park can be older or newer but are clean. Complaints of them being disgusting or filthy are inconsistent.

I would look at www.hotels.com and search for the location "disney's california adventure" It will list these hotels first and when you see prices you like check the hotel detail to see if it has a complimentary breakfast.

I have stayed at Candy Cane Inn and it is nice, free shuttle and free breakfast. The Park Vue Inn has been getting good reviews lately and is across the crosswalk from Disneyland, free breakfast. :)

Grand Californian Hotel with Concierge...

Well I would chose what CrazyDuck said...GCH Concierge level. LOL But if you need to stay off-site I would go with CCI. It's got free bfast and a free shuttle as well. My next choice would be the HoJo but no free bfast there. :)

The Anabella is right across the street from the parks and is so nice. The beds are comfortable and there are several floorplans to choose from. We have stayed in 3 different types of rooms. The last time our package included breakfast and it was delicious (fresh tangeriene juice). I also recommend Paradise Pier Hotel. Breakfast isn't included but it is a great hotel with comfortable beds and a fun pool area.

MAMACARLA just shared this great map it show pretty much everything, i hope it helps

Candy Cane Inn has the best breakfast (deluxe continental) in the places that fit within your criteria. Next would be BW Park Place Inn that is right at the pedestrian walk, and so within easy walking distance. Simpler breakfasts would be at Camelot, Tropicana, Ramada Inn Maingate ...

From someone else thrifty, pack a box of bars and then you can cross 'free breakfast' off your wish list. It's usually more of 'included in the price' anyway, and it's usually not very good or healthy. I know it's very convenient, though, if your family at least wants to choose among a few beverages and food items.

I'll be 7 months pregnant when we go (also in Sept), and we booked a premium room at the Ramada Maingate. The 2 big deciding factors for us were the short walking distance to the parks, and while minimal the continental breakfast. We aren't big breakfast eaters just some fruit and maybe cereal is fine for us. Oh, also we got a good internet rate on their Newly renovated premium rooms too.

Ramada Maingate is our usual hotel -- free wi-fi & free continental breakfast (true continental -- donuts, croissants, toast, bagels, cereal) which is usually enough to hold us for an hour or two & overall we find the VALUE of this hotel to be great (low prices, close proximity & decent amenities). Also, Tony Roma's is right in front & is WAY better food than you'll find in the parks for WAY less $$ (we usually eat there twice because they usually have a coupon code on the receipt).

I would do the Fairfield. The pictures look nice and it's very close to the entrance (and includes breakfast).

We do this when we stay at the HoJo. When we are there for the weekend we just take muffins, juice and milk and eat in the room. When we are there for longer trips we still take the muffins, juice & milk but we also leave enough $$ for at least 1 bfast in the park. Can't beat Mickey pancakes. :)

I saw that the Carousel Inn and Suites was running a $99/nt promo called nightastic and they said their pool is under construction so maybe that is an option for you GOOD LUCK! I have their number 714-758-0444

We've stayed at Park Vue Inn our last 2 trips. Our most recent was in January 2010. I don't know why it still gets a bad rap. They must have done a complete overhaul recently, but everyone is still talking about their bad experience from long ago. We found the rooms to be large, clean, and comfortable. Our last room was a 1 bedroom suite. It had a kitchen with a stove, small fridge, 2 flat screen tvs, fireplace, pull out couch in the living area. The beds in the bedroom were very comfie.

The pool is small, but we didn't swim on our last trip.

The breakfast was nice. Lots to choose from. We ate there every morning.

You can't beat the walk. In the evening, when it got cooler, I would go back to the room to get jackets for everyone and then head back to the park. It's such a short walk.

We stayed at other resorts before, the ones that you have to drive or take a shuttle. Being able to walk is so much more convenient. It's definitely worth it.
