Need help picking a great point & shoot digital camera.

After reading the posts here about a camera, I was driving myself nuts about which camera to get, I decided to get the canon Powershot 210 14mp, 14X zoom.

Ordered it at Walmart.com. Keeping my fingers crossed it's going to be a great camera.

I just wanted something to throw in my purse and to grab quick at the parks. But also to get those far away shots.

Should be here in about a week or so...

I just rec'd mine as a gift from DH on our last trip to Disney. I stopped at Walgreens to pick up a memory card and started using it right away and just played with it. I like it, but am not loving it....my pictures seem very soft and almost blurry, I have an ELPH that this replaced and I compare the pictures on my screen and the old ones seem so much nicer, sharper. I am impressed with the zoom, I was able to get a great picture of Fantasmic. I would be interested in hearing what you think about the 210.

Hi Don't get a camera that take 2 double A batteries. Get one that take a lithium ion battery they last much LONGER the double A's your replacing all the time. Have a great trip

Best place to buy.

NY based retailer. Buy from no one else.
Trustworthy, Reliable, best pricing anywhere. If you get a better price, it's because it's not a reputable company. Lots of bait and switch still in NY based retailers.

Which camera?
Canon anything...use nothing else. Sony- wouldn't touch in consumer market. Nikon- used to be the best tech....images are much more noisy than Canon. Canon selection of models about 2 to 1 versus Nikon.

I drove myself crazy researching a camera for about 2 months on here and Amazon- just couldn't decide. Finally ended up with a Panasonic Lumix- which i am LOVING. Has a good zoom and takes great photos indoors and out. Its not Waterproof like my old camera but the quality of photos is so much better. Now I am going to get a Canon D10 i think, for waterproof times =)

I recently purchased a Canon SD1400 specifically for the purpose of our trip in June. So far, I'm loving this little camera. Prior to this, I'd been using my Canon Digital Rebel, and I also have an older Canon G4. DD has the Panasonic with the touch screen and it's nice, too.

What I like about the SD1400 is how tiny it is. I can slip it in my pocket and the pictures come out very nice. Decent zoom, too.
