My daughter, husband, and two children aged 13 and 11 are planning to go to disney world and spend two weeks there, June 8th to June 15, 2004. She has mentioned to me the all star movies, music, and sports value package. I dont really know what this is, and she has asked me to check prices for her. My daughter lives in Charleston, WV and they will fly down here for the vacation. Does anyone know if this package is cheaper for a Florida resident, or even where I can find information about this. I dont know how to go about finding the best package deal. Im thanking you in advance. DianainFlorida

Hi Diana,
I am not sure what she means by this but you can add a package onto any resort you stay at by booking when you make your reservation a package vs room only. If you go on http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/waltdisneyworld/index
and go under buy vacation and then select custom package it will give you all the info along with the prices if you plug in the information on the different packages you maybe interested in. It is cheaper if you belong to AAA to get the package through them has been my experience. There is one package that just gives you room and park passes for length of stay, another called the silver package that gives you all of the above plus 2 wishes a day/per person which can be applied to meals and different activities at WDW and another package that gives you 3 meals a day and unlimited recreation and many of the tours are covered under this plan. Also there is the Platinum plan that covers everything immaginable including meals and snacks.
Hope this helps.

HI THERE
WE HAVE USED AAA ON OUR FIRST TRIP AND THEY DID A GREAT
JOB PUTTING APACKAGE TOGETHER FOR US. I WOULD ALSO RECOMEND TRYING EXPEDIA .COM. WE BOOKED A TRIP LAST
SPRING THROUGH THEM AND WAS VERY PLEASED WITH THE
RESULTS. PLUS THEY WERE THE CHEAPEST I COULD FIND ANYWHERE.
GOOD LUCK AND HAVE A MAGICAL TIME. :wave2:

There are some great discounts for Florida residents, both on hotel and park tickets. I don't know the specifics, as I'm not a resident. Hopefully, by bumping this up, a Florida resident will respond. I'm assuming that you will be going on the trip, too.

You've already gotten some good advice, but I'll add a couple more thoughts.

1. If price is your main concern, package deals aren't usually the most economical way to go. Your main expenses will be transportation, lodging, park tickets and possbly food. Price those items in packages and separately and see how the numbers compare.

2. AAA is a good resource to try if you are a member. I'd also recommend Dreams Unlimited, which I believe is a sponsor of this site. They have agents that specialize in Disney trips, whereas many other independent agents may not know some of the "tricks of the trade" with regard to WDW.

3. I'm not sure how many days your party will be visiting the parks. You said "2 weeks' in your post, but the dates mentioned only represent 8 days. If you are planning on being in the WDW theme parks for 8 days or more, you would be VERY wise to consider Annual Passes as your ticket medium. The breakeven point is typically 8 park days. Disney will often push their Unlimited Park Hopper passes, which are length of stay passes. But for an extended stay, APs are likely to be your best bet. APs also feature discounts on dining, recreation, shopping and sometimes even discounted room rates.

4. As others have said, there are good discounts at WDW for Florida residents. But be aware that Disney is very dilligent in ensuring that only FL residents can take advantage of the discounts. In other words, you, as a FL resident will not be able to buy discounted park passes for your relatives who live in another state.

Good luck and ask other questions if you have them.
