Need help on transfer iron-ons

To ALL Designers, A BIG THANK YOU, your designs are amazing.

I have a big problem.
Planning a family gathering in Dec, 31 people. Thought I would make everyone some shirts. Made them, 100% cotton, washed in cold water. Iron-on transfers looked great but when I washed them in cold water no soap they peeled, bubbled and pictures blurred.

Is there any way to remove the transfers and start over? Or do I really need to start over with new shirts? I used Avery transfers and followed the directions carefully, they really looked great, what did I do wrong? I have ordered Amy's transfers and I am hoping that I can salvage this mess.

When you washed them the first time did you add fabric softner? I wash mine thru a normal wash load BUT no fabric softner...I even put them in the dryer..I must say tho, you lost all of your work and the shirts as you can't get all the iron on off I know, what a waste of money and time.....Amy's transfers are the best in my opinion...I absolutely LOVE them...I order my shirts from jiffyshirts.com also...sorry you had to have this rotten experience and I am wishing you lots of pixie dust and magic...good luck

Thought this was going to be the results (starting over)

I washed the shirts with cold water, no soap, no softner.
Hung them dry, did not use the dryer because they looked kind of funny after the wash (on gentle cycle). Thought after they dry I could re-iron them and they might look better.

oh well, back to the drawing board or should I say iron board.
