Need help on saving video from news website.

I'm trying to save a video from this website. I have a downloader that works well with youtube and other sites to save videos as MP4 files so I can play on PC and on iPhone.

However, the MP4 file its saving from this website just doesn't seem to want to play in quicktime.

Can someone help? If you get a video to work, can I PM you the link to the video I would like saved, and you can email me the mp4 file?

I don't want to post the video link here due to personal info, but I would like the file as a nice keepsake. :goodvibes

The videos on this site aren't MP4s. They are the FLV format. Do you have a downloader for that? Do you use Firefox? There is a free downloader that works for both FLV files & MP4s for Firefox.

Plus you would need to convert the file to MP4 if that works better for iPhones.

If you have neither, PM me the direct link to the video you want and I'll email you a copy of it in both FLV and MP4 formats for you. :surfweb:

This was the downloader I was using on Firefox. Is there a better one? It works well on youtube?

That is the one I use. You have to make sure you save the video with the proper extention. In this case it has to be the .flv extention.

Maybe it's your Quickplayer. I had to download a different free player to play some videos. I use:
http://www.videolan.org/vlc/

It plays both flv, MP4 and I think also swf videos, that some sites use.

I have to tell everyone how wonderful Imzadi has been. She was kind enough to write me providing links to the software I needed along with perfect directions complete with screenshots to teach me how to do this.
