I have a few questions regarding booking a cruise on the Disney Magic. We'd like to go sometime in January - 3 or 4 days.

Questions:

1) Do they have smoking cabins?
2) Do you fly into Orlando Airport (MCO)????
3) After you get on the ship - are there many extra expenses, I know that the cruise cost covers the meals (right?). What else would I need to pay for (other than Souvenirs)
4) Would my 12 yr old be able to hang out in the teen area?

Thanks for anyones help.

The Magic generally only does a 7 night. The Wonder is the 3 or 4 night ship. There are no "smoking" cabins. They are all non-smoking.
We usually fly into MCO--it is about a 45 minute drive to the port.
The only other required expense is your tips. The great thing about cruising is it is all up to you how expensive it becomes-all meals in the regular dining rooms are included, as are the snacks, burgers, etc from Plutos, the ice cream & fruit from Scoops; the pizza from pinnochio's. If you want to go to Palo, it is $5 per adult. We spend most of our money on drinks (wine, etc), and photos. I have also dropped a few dollars at the Spa and in Shutters. Generally, the teen group is limited to those 13 and older, and those within 1 month of their 13th birthday. Have fun; its a wonderful family trip!

I am by no means an expert, but I think I know that answers to your questions (and if not, someone will correct me! LOL):

1. No smoking is allowed in any of the cabins, though you are able to smoke on the verandahs (if you get that category of cabin)

2. If you are booking through DCL you fly into MCO. If you want to fly in to a different airport you can, but then you'd have to arrange transportation to Port Canaveral

3. Other expenses include: alcoholic drinks/smoothies, soft drinks (except at sit-down meals), photos from the ship's photographers, tips (this is a big one!!!), spa treatments, care for children under age 3 at Flounder's Nursery, dining at Palo's ($5 gratuity charge for dinner), and of course souvenirs, rental for floats and things at Castaway Cay, shore excursions. I am sure there are other items, but I can't think of any. The good thing here is that, with the exception of tips, everything else is "extra" (meaning you can choose not to do them).

4. I believe the teen club is ages 13 +. Disney policy is to allow children within 1 month of the next age bracket to move up to the next group. So, if you child will be that close to turning 13, that should be ok.
