need help on disneyland vacation

trying to do it as cheap as possible

Come on over to the Disneyland board!

There are a variety of good hotels that are close (within walking distance) and many have free breakfasts. It is not necessary to stay on site, like so many people do at WDW.
If you ask at the Disneyland board, many people will tell you all about their favorite hotels, and how to get to and from the airport, and how to purchase e-tickets or tickets from Costco.

Hi there! We were in DL last August, and had a great time! I booked our hotel through fairfieldinn.com and got a great rate at the Anaheim Fairfield. It was about a 5 minute walk to the crosswalk where you are on Disney property and very close to the entrance. I liked it there because every afternoon when we walked home, they would have ice cold lemonade and water waiting for us in the lobby! Everyone seemed friendly, and there were good restaurants like Mimi's within walking distance of the hotel. We personally didn't rent a car, we thought it was an added expense that we didn't need, we mainly did the parks anyway. We did attend a baseball game one evening, but called for a towncar to pick us up and bring us home. We did get the "buy 3, get 2 free" for the tickets, so it made it very nice and affordable for our family of 4! There are many other hotels on the same side of the street as where we stayed, I know a lot of people love the Howard Johnson and there is a Best Western right across the street, as well as others. I'm not sure if Alaska Airlines flies to SLC but they have the kids fly free promo right now and their packages are better than any of the Disney ones out there (AAA, Costco or other!). We have an amazing deal for our April trip.
