Need help!! Newbie to digi

Okay, I have finally broke down and decided that I need to digiscrap our past 3 trips!!! I have never done this before and need all the advice I can get!! I own a cricut E, cuttlebug, zutter ect.......... i'm currently working on our last trip but I have 3 trips before that I haven't even started yet and I'm hoping that doing it digitally will help speed up the process before our next trip this sept. So, here are my questions to you.......

What program should I purchase and why, or is there a really good free one somewhere out there?

Where do you print them off at, walmart, walgreens.......?

I have heard talk about layouts, so can I just chose a background and then insert my pics into the layouts?????

Please help any way you can, like I said I am pretty clueless to all of this and would love the help!!!

hmmm you're going to get alot of diverse opinions... cause there are several popular programs and we all think the one we use is the best

I use Storybook Creator plus from Creative Memories
its easy to use and well priced. CM has lots of webinars/tutorials available to help you learn on your own.

I started with the help of my CMConsultant. She showed me the basics and got me started.

CM has lots of the pages that are already done and you can drop your pics into.... but also individual papers/elements to design your own. SBC+ will also let you add kits that you can get for free or a small price online from NON-CM sites.

I don't get my pages printed at Creative memories (too expensive) but there are many other places (I think walmart and walgreens can even print 12x12)
I use scrapbookpictures.com to print... but I've heard of other sites that lots of gals like too.

Don't get overwelmed by all the info you get. Start simple and go from there!! Just like you did when you started paper scrapping (I'm assuming you scrap with all the cool toys you said you have!!)

Not sure if WalMart does 12x12, but I got my book from Shutterfly. I also get prints at scrappingsimply.com or persnicketyprints.com
