If DH and I decide to cut our trip by a few nights rather not be able to go at all until next year, we will have to cut our ADR's obviously.

Here is what we planned if we stayed September 20 - 29 (nine nights):

MK:

Crystal Palace (breakfast)
Plaza (Lunch)

Epcot:

LeCellier (Lunch or Dinner)
Biergarten (Lunch or Dinner)

AK:

Yak & Yeti

Studios:

Sci Fi

Resorts:

Wave (Lunch or Dinner)
Boma (Breakfast)
Turf Club Grill (Dinner)

If we cut our trip to stay September 20 - 26, we will have 6 TS's. The ones that CANNOT be cut that we must do are: Crystal Palace, LeCellier and Yak & Yeti. Also, we will pay out of pocket for the Plaza.

We have to cut two of the remaining five: Sci Fi, Boma, Wave, Turf Club and Biergarten.

I'm up for ideas as I can't decide. I would appreciate my Dis friends' help.

Given those choices, I personally would cut Biergarten (my family is German, I know German food, and it doesn't wow me--yes I've eaten there) and either Sci Fi or Turf House. I personally would cut Turf House because I don't eat red meat, but Sci-Fi has gotten very mixed reviews. I wouldn't cut Boma or the Wave for anything (I'm seriously bummed I can't squeeze in the Wave myself!).

I would cut Sci Fi (or go & pay OOP for lunch) and would definitely cut Boma - we did not like it at all for dinner. Blah or overly-spiced seemed to be the choices & it was over-loud & over-crowded. JMHO, of course - lots of peoplee swear by how wonderful it is. The Biergarten is fun, but as PP said the food's not over the top outstanding. It's good and the beer is awesome, of course. Haven't done Turf Club so can't help you there.

We loved The Wave.

Thanks, guys. I should have pointed out that we've been to Sci Fi (although it's been about nine or ten years since we were there) and Biergarten is one of our favorites (we've always had good food). Boma, Wave and Turf Club are all new for us and Boma we would do for breakfast--not dinner (I'm not into the spiced dinner foods).

Thanks for the suggestions. And more are welcome.

I would say cut Boma, but then I read that you'd do breakfast, which I've only heard good things about! (We didn't care too much for dinner).

So now I'm not very helpful :rotfl:.

Actually, given YOUR choices I would skip Biergarten. Second choice to skip would be Sci-Fi, even though we love it there.
I don't know about the Turf Club - never been there.
Would definitely keep The Wave. We've eaten there twice and the food is wonderful, love their dessert samplers.
We love Boma for breakfast, so I'd keep that as well.

You didn't say where you are staying. If it's not AK, Boma breakfast may not be easy to get to, given a resort to resort trip (you'd have to change busses at a park or Blizzard Beach).

I could never cut SciFi, but I can understand why someone would just pay out of pocket.

I'd go with the new places you've never tried before.

We've never tried Boma for breakfast, but love their dinner buffet. The others I have eaten at. Sci-Fi is not one of our favorites, but we do love the other three. We got some very good blackberry lemonade, calamari, steak, and apple pie at the Turf Club. It was better than the steak we got at Le Cellier. My mom also got some lamb chops there that she really liked. The Biergarten is of course always good and alot of fun. I really enjoyed the Wave, when we ate there last Sept, but no one else in my party did. In fact, I switched entrees with my mom, because she did not like her pork loin. My husband got some kind of skirt steak and did not like it either. The little dessert trios were a hit with everyone though.

We will be going on our 3rd trip in Nov, and so far, my goal is to try as many new places as possible, with 1 or 2 repeats per trip. With that strategy in mind, I'd try all the new places on your list, and skip SciFi and Biergarten. That's just me, though. So many restaurants, so little time!!! :rolleyes1

We're staying at the CSR (for the 8th time) and we always rent a car so transportation is no problem.

I'm here girlfriend!

Blame Todd for hogging the computer for work last night, the nerve of him!

So I am very happy that you do not have to cancel your trip! Told you it would work out!

Here is what I would do...cancel Turf Club and (I cannot believe I am going to say this) but cancel Boma breakfast...yes it is my fave breakfast in all of WDW but it is just breakfast, heck you can eat eggs anytime!! :rotfl: The Sci Fi was very good, we loved the onion rings and the burgers and that reuben was so good but the main reason to go there is the atmosphere and a nice break in HS since the CS options there are the pits.

Whatever you do I know you will enjoy it and have a great time and most importantly, take a boat load of pictures for all of us!

Who does Todd think he is? My God...does he not know that this is TOP PRIORITY in our lives? :lmao::lmao: I'm very disappointed in him. See if I recommend Fulton's to him again! :rotfl2:

I cannot believe you have said to cancel Boma. That is like your all-time FAV for breakfast. You really think I should keep The Wave over Boma?

I await your final word! :)

I would skip Biergarten(even though it's a favorite--try something new this time) and Turf Club(never been there or heard anything about it). Keep Boma and Wave(heard great things about both--and you're trying something new) and Sci-Fi(you get to keep an old favorite).

He probably didnt realize it was DIS emergency! :rotfl:

I know I cannot believe I am saying ditch Boma because it is a great breakfast but if you are relying on WDW buses to get there it is a huge pain (even though you are so close to AKL). The last 2 trips we went to WDW we did not go to Boma and I missed it but we were finding that a heavy buffet breakfast every day was just way too much for us and we could make do with CS stuff instead. If I had to choose between breakfast TS and dinner TS (no matter where it is) I would always go with the dinner TS so I can end the day on a relaxing note.

Are you doing the dining plan or the FD? Whichever it is make sure you use the TS credits for more expensive meals...get the bang for your buck!

Or you could have a huge yard sale and get extra cash to pay for the extra meals..... Or do what I do, every week take some cash from DH's wallet and put it away for a WDW trip...I promise you he will never know it is missing :lmao:

DO NOT cancel the Wave, it is amazing and sooo good and relaxing and unlike any other place we have been to at WDW. And the TS places that you are keeping, I agree I would not cancel them for anything! They are fantastic choices!

Thank you, Aubriee.

Thanks; we do want to try some new ones. The only problem is the last two years we did, they were both MAJOR disappointments (Boatwright's and Whispering Canyon Cafe).

Definitely going to keep Wave.

Every time we stop at Starbucks or the gas station, he looks at me like, well give me some cash! But little does he know that all his umpire checks he is getting are not going in the bank...I'm putting them under my mattress until he gets them all through July and then putting them in the bank for our trip!

We rent a car so we drive everywhere (never use the buses). We are on the bounceback for free dining. We will pay out of pocket for Plaza. I don't want to give up Sci-Fi becasue then we have nothing at the Studios and I hate all of their counter serviceplaces. But I was so looking forward to Boma this year since we missed it last year.

Okay...definitely keeping The Wave and Sci Fi (we have to have somewhere to eat at the Studios). We'll definitely drop Turf Club.

So it's down to whether we cancel Boma or Biergarten. We missed Biergarten last year also (friends of ours wanted Rose & Crown so we went there).

Or do we pay out of pocket for Sci Fi as well as Plaza? Is Sci Fi expensive? I can't remember since it's been nine years since we were there. But then again I don't want to pay out of pocket for too many because then we'll never use all of oru counter service credits.

Decisions. Decisions. Decisions. :rotfl2::rotfl2:

I'll wait for some more responses before I make final decision.

Thanks everyone...you guys are the best!

Well I cannot dump Beirgarten either, we have it planned for our Oct trip because we have not been since April 08 and DH is missing getting his German groove on.

It may be cheaper to pay for Boma OOP than Sci Fi....I dont know what is covered on the plan you have but I think Boma is $17 a person, includes drinks too (except for the pressed pot coffee which is put hair on your chest strong) and that may be alot cheaper than going to Sci Fi.

I hope you find a way to keep Sci Fi and try Boma...both of them are fantastic!

Hi. I would pay out of pocket for buffets. They are all inclusive, whereas at the regular TS (like the Plaza) you're paying for everything separately.

I run numbers constantly - I would rather pay OOP for Boma breakfast and use TS credits at the Plaza since it includes dessert!!

Same thing for Sci-Fi - if you want milkshakes and dessert, you'll spend more than you will at a buffet.

Good luck!

Boma is $17 for adults, Sci-Fi entrees are $12-22. Add on appetizers, drinks, desserts and Sci-Fi would definetly be more OOP.:teacher: Pay OOP for Boma, and because it's a buffet you can really fill up for most of the day.:thumbsup2 Good luck with your ADR's:goodvibes

Thank you, guys! Sounds like a good plan to me.
