Hello all,
Thanks for all the info on this board, it has been an education.
My husband, two boys, one will turn four while we are at DLP and the other will be 14 months, my parents - oh and I, are all off to DLP on April 21 for three nights. We are staying at the Santa Fe.
I was just wondering whether there are any tips you can give me to make sure my little one has a fabby fourth birthday.
We have booked a birthday tea at the Plaza Gardens at 3pm on the sunday of his birthday, but are there anymore bday treats that can be had.
I remember someone mentioning getting bday badges from somewhere on Main Street? Any other tips?
Also he's a Peter Pan fanatic, apart from the ride any other tips on seeing him around? is he a regular character? or is it just Capt Hook on the prowl?
Any suggestions would be gratefully received.
Also as you all mention this Brits guide book, would anyone like to part with theirs for a small fee? Recycling and all that!

I am more excited than the kids i think! last time i went to DLP was when my hubby took me for my 21st birthday - I'm 33 now, so i bet a lot has changed! Can't wait!! :yay: :cheer2:  :woohoo:
Thanks again,
Kath x

Hi Kath and welcome to DLP DIS board :wave2:
We are a friendly bunch here so please join in on any other thread or if you have a number of questions then just start a new thread for each :goodvibes

If you have not had a look yet, posting guidelines can be found here and details regarding help on signatures here

I'm sure you DS will enjoy the birthday tea party :)
According to many others DLP does not do the birthday badges unfortunately :confused3

hey hun! welcome!
im sure ur little one is going to have a fabulous bday in disneyland, im very jealous. my boyfriend is taking me (like u) for my 21st this xmas (altho im not really supposed to know but he had to vaguely let slip to shut me up - i wudnt stop asking if we cud go again this year!) so im already excited!
i've had a little think about ur questions. i'm not sure about anything else disney do specifically for bdays. and i dont think i can ever remember seeing peter pan at character meeting points.
however, if u were having a meal somewhere in the evening, perhaps at disney village, maybe u cud buy a peter pan cuddly toy and get the waiter/tress to deliver it with ur sons meal? as a little surprise. or alternatively, might be worth calling ahead to ur hotel and seeing if u cud pay over the phone for a little peter pan something, so they can have it waiting for ur son on his bed when u arrive? that is of course if u are staying at a disney hotel?
hope this helps, il carry on having a think (i know how important disney bdays are!)

I saw a picture of Peter Pan taken during the Summer at DLRP in 2006, he is a rare character and apparently he is more likely to be seen on hot days(like during the heat wave last year), as face characters can stay out longer in the heat.

Though there is meant to be more characters out and about from April so I hope for you son that Peter Pan is one of them.

Captain Hook is usually at Cafe Mickey, out of our 4 visits he has been there every time.

Captain Hook was at Cafe Mickeys on Tuesday evening (6th March) and also he was at a meet and greet at 10 am outside City Hall just before walking down Main Street (5th March)

Did not see Peter Pan character. Dont forget to use your park entrance ticket and put it through the fast pass machine as Peter Pan had the largest queue in Fantasyland and also the fast passes were running out before dinner time. Then you can just join a small queue or sometimes virtually no queue instead of queueing for ages. The queue for Peter Pan was on average around 45 mins long each day we were there.

Did notice a lot of Peter Pan things for sale and nice window displays and displays inside the Disney Store in Disney Village of Peter Pan.:tinker:

Thanks all for the kind welcome.
Sorry if I posted too many questions on one thread! Will learn next time.
When booking the hotel, we're staying at the Santa Fe, they did mention that you can ask where characters maybe during the day. Is that right? Has anyone else done that?

Kath:scratchin

Hi Kathy,
You could try contacting the Santa Fe direct - I contacted the NPB last time as it was my son's birthday.
I telephoned to see if I could actually pay to have something special in the room on arrival, it wasn't an option - but the hotel did arrange balloons in the room on our arrival and he got a card signed by Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Pluto & Donald and an autograph book - all free of charge which was very nice for me and he was amazed and delighted that they knew it was his birthday.:)

Capt. Hook is always at Cafe Mickey and dependant on when you're going you may get Peter Pan, as the park is promising more characters than ever before during it's anniversary, I'm certainly hoping we get to see a few of the rarer characters around - I'd love to see Roger Rabbit myself :)

Otherwise one of the floats in the new parade definately features Peter Pan- whether as a model or "real" character I'm not sure but it's Captain Hook's galley splashing through the waves, before a sea of London rooftops and Wendy peering out of her window at Peter Pan on the roof above!
(info from DLRP magic) I'm sure DS will love that.

Tnanks all.
I'll defo be on the Peter Pan look out. But I'm sure the Capt will do.
Great idea about balloons etc before we go. I'll give them a call in a few weeks. Can you get straight through to the hotels when you call?
Would be handy to know if we've got adjoining rooms as well - get the g'parents on one night's babysitting duty!

Kath ;)

You need to telephone the hotel direct.
The number should be in the Useful Info thread if not I do have the number for the SF at home and will post it up later. :)

You'll need to ring nearer the time say a week beforehand, when they have their guest allocation lists.
