I posted this first on the Restaurant page as it involves the FDP...but it seems fewer people read/respond over there so I thought I'd try you folks. :goodvibes

Presently I have an ADR for 4:30 at Mama Melrose....and Fantasmic will be at 7pm on the night we'll be there. We're a family of 4 w/ ds 6 and dd almost 3 at the time of the trip.

I started looking at the schedule for the new Lights, Motor Action show and I don't know how we're going to see it. :confused3 Looks like they don't do the early show all the time. Other options are just before 3 (which would prevent us from seeing the parade) and at 5:40.

I'm guessing there is no way I can do a 4:30 ADR at Mama Melrose and still try to catch the 5:40 show of LMA...and then on to Fantasmic?!? Just seems so rushed. What do you think?

How good is this show???? We've seen (and really enjoyed) Fantasmic before...but should I forgo it this trip for LMA??? :confused3 Or w/ my children should I just stick to Fantasmic? We are hoping to get over to MGM one other night just to see the Osborne lights. I suppose we could try to do LMA at 5:40 that night and then do the lights. I guess that might be my only option if they don't offer the early show on the full day we're at MGM.

But I'd really love to hear from people re: the LMA show and if it's a must see...AND, if it's a must see for children. he idea of spending ~30mins waiting for the ~30min show...and then another 20mins trying to get out....I just don't know.

TIA for your help!!!

First of all, is your ADR at Mama Melrose's part of the Fantasmic dining plan? If so, I'd say you could do all three, because you'll be guaranteed a seat at Fantasmic. When LMA ends (I seem to remember it was around 30 minutes or so), you'd still have time to walk over and see Fantasmic. If you have to wait in the regular line, it's still doable, depending on how crowded it is that day.

If you can eat in about an hour (we usually can) then get to LMA (which I assume you will have gotten FastPasses for, if available) I think it's a doable plan. It won't be exactly rushed, but it won't be a stretch out and take your leisure time either.

I think your DS would really like the cars!!!!

imho the LMAX is over rated so if you miss anything i say miss the parade or LMAX but that is just me.

Yes, we have MM as part of FDP. And I too thought we could eat in an hour and maybe FP the LMA...but I've been told MM is a 4 course meal and takes 2 hours! There's no longer availability for FDP at H&V that night. (Figures, I wanted to try someting new and had no idea it would take so long)

Do others here think MM will take me 2 hrs to eat???? Or is it doable in an hour??? My thought is we'll try to arrive around 4:15 or earlier so we're seated and eating by 4:30....but I just don't know.

We did the 2:55 show twice last week for LMA. We liked it, DBF and DD12 love cars, chases, and stunts. Personally I'd do the 2:55 show. We arrived about 15 minutes before it began and were able to get the 3rd row to the seating all the way to the right. Though we sat toward the inside of the row. When the show is over they will open gates that will get you out faster. It shouldn't take you more than 5 minutes to exit and get to MM. If you do the Stunt show first then you will not feel so rushed during dinner. Last week they were not offering fast passes but since you seem to be going closer to Thanksgiving they probably will. Know this the first 2 rows in front of us were reserved for people that can not climb the steps but were walking (not using wheelchairs or ECV). Good Luck.

Good to know you can get out quickly from an area!! Unfortunately I can't do the 2:55 show as my kids would be very upset to miss the Parade.

So I guess I'm left to hoping for an add'l early show....or trying to do it on the night we skip over for Osborne lights. Who knows, maybe the show times will change more substantially for Nov.

I don't see how it's possible. The two attractions couldn't be further away from eachother & you don't want to get to Fantasmic too late or your going to be stuck on the far right.

Are you kids really into car chases and stunts and things like that?

If not, then I would skip LMA. We thought the show was ok, but nothing special. I wouldn't go out of my way to see it again.

If your kids are younger, they will probably get more out of the parade and Fantasmic! If they are older, I would skip the parade for LMA.

we were not impressed by LMA at all... even ds8 did not think it was all that... if you see Indiana Jones you should be covered on "stunt shows" for the day!

No way it would take 2 hours for MM. I was there on Sunday and the ppl actually doing the whole app, pizza, entree, desert were in and out in about an hour.

You don't mention when you are going but I assume its not until November if Fantasmic is at 7:00. I noticed last weekend when Fantasmic hours went from 8:30 to 8:00, they also changed the times of LMA. You might be planning a bit too early. Might make sense to look again at show times when Fantasmic changes to 7:30 or even 7:00, if its before you go.

darn...I just lost my post! :badpc:

I wanted to thank you all for your help in thinking this through. Sometimes it is so helpful to talk it out w/ others. :goodvibes

Since my children are young I agree, the parade and Fantasmic are the big draws so we'll only do this IF we can fit it in easily eariler in the day or on the other night we return for Osborne lights.

Yes, we aren't going til Nov/Dec...and I'm just guessing on the hours based on historical. Things could certainly change. Just seems as though it's set up to make it difficult to eat...see a parade...and see the show. Something has to give on one end or another. But I can certainly understand why they can't show it too many times in a day. Just wondering why they don't offer one session in the morning??? :rolleyes1 Sun in the wrong place????

Well thanks again!
