Hello! I just recently made a purchase on eBay and I'm not entirely sure what I bought... I have tried finding information online and have had little success. The listing referred to it as a "Cartoon photo", but my searches on that term have yielded nothing. It is from the 1938 cartoon Mickey's Parrot, and has been linen-backed for preservation. On the bottom left corner it states "Leased for restricted use only must be returned to RKO Radio Pictures Inc". I believe this may actually be from 1938 because of that, as I know RKO went out of business in, I believe, the 1950's. I'm just unsure what it is, exactly. Any direction or ideas would be greatly appreciated!
It's a press photo, sent out for use in newspapers. I have a few from the original release of Snow White. They're fun to collect and relatively inexpensive.
No problem! I think these stay under the collector radar, though press photos of sports legends are garnering more interest among those collectors. Anyway, they are a nice supplement to a lobby card collection and they look great in a frame.
