More specifically, breakable items. We are in Disney right now and my Dsis is flying back home next week and purchased some coffee mugs....she is only bringing a carry on with her, and these mugs are wrapped very well... will she get through security alright? or do they not allow any breakable/wrapped items? Help all you savvy air travellers! I've never flown so I haven't a clue! Thanks.

I always buy one of those big shopping bags from Downtown Disney (about $5) and load it full of all of my souveniers. I check everything else but my personal handbag. Then, I just bring it with me, and tuck it under my seat. I have done this 4-5 times now and it has never been a problem. I have brought countless mugs, seashells, even a huge picture frame from Disney and a soccer ball. So, it is possible. I handle it lightly and guard it with my life!

Last spring, we bought fancy princess mugs for our DD's. I brought them home in my carry-on with no problems. They were wrapped at the store in the park, and the paper they wrap them with, made them double their real size. But they made it home in one piece and no issues with security.

Thanks! That's exactly what I was worried about....whether security would make her take them OUT of all that wrap or not. Well, lets hope all goes well then.
