Calling a Disney point experts, is there anything besides groceries, and gas that can help me get more points faster! Tried the mortage, and student loans, but no luck. Or any other advice on other reward cards that have worked for you.

I use my Disney Visa to pay my AOL, cable, cell phone, trips to Wendy's. I use it to buy stamps at the post office. Everywhere I see a VISA sign, I use it! All those points add up!

We use our VISA (not Disney... Marriott) for everything we possibly can. We pay our local, long distance and cell phone bills, our auto insurance, various charitable donations, newspaper and magazine subscriptions, groceries, gas, home alarm company, Internet access, professional dues, all travel expenses and more. When my daughter was in private school, we paid the tuition by VISA.

Whenever we go out to eat with others, I always ask if they mind paying their share in cash and then I charge the total bill. That's the best because I get points that don't cost me anything. Also, my wife sells Tupperware. When she does parties, everyone pays her by check then she enters the order online and puts it on our VISA so we get more free points. Same when we travel with others. I just charged my mother-in-law's cruise and airfare and she wrote me a check. I got all the points for free. We used to buy US Savings Bonds online with VISA but unfortunately they stopped that a few months ago.

Car insurance (some companies), prescriptions, DD's violin rental, our neighborhood takes cc for the pool membership, just found out my DD's orthodontist takes them - that will get us some points! :p

It's fun finding more & more places to charge up the points -not as fun to keep track of transferring all the money to pay the bill! But we do pay in full each month.

Thanks Steph - I forgot to mention medical and dental bills.

And of course all of this ONLY makes sense if you pay your bill in full every month. If you can't afford to pay your credit card bill in full you shouldn't be charging stuff.

Thanks everyone I got a couple of ideas to call on... like the cable, insurance and phone, also have to check on the tuition too. I agree paying off every month is the key. Someone a while a go (in another thread) posted they pay off weekly. I think that's great, I try to pay 2 times a month just so I keep on top of things.

Another thing some people do is round off their payments. For example, if the bill is $985, they pay $1000. That gives a little credit cushion for future months when money is a bit tighter.

I actually thought it was pretty funny that my OB/GYN takes visa for payments (we're expecting #2 in October). Since I have to pay him and then get reimbursed from my husband's flex account, it's like free points! The hospital takes Visa too! Now we can make plans to take DD and Baby #2 to WDW even sooner!:earsgirl:

mom2alix good luck on the mom of 2 in Oct. I have been doing medical...but have already used up me pretax spending w/ 3 implants (teeth), sinus lift and 2 crowns on my teeth this year:( But plan to restart that in Jan too!! Thanks

I use my Disney Visa like a debit card. I use it for every little thing and write it in my check book so the money is already "gone." Almost every place takes Visa now, and I never carry cash anyway. I've got over 400 points already this year.
