I just need a little reassurance here! I was involved in a thread about a month ago, where it was determined that the large duffel was appropriate for stowing in the overhead of a plane, and the Get Carried Away tote was the correct size for stowing under the seat in front of you.

I now have both of these items and I will be flying to AZ in 8 days. I’m sort of freaking out about the size of this Get Carried Away tote, though. I am just having such a hard time understanding how this tote is going to fit underneath the seat in front of me!

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not trying to call anyone a liar – honest! I just can’t imagine how this is going to work, and I really don’t want to be forced to check either of my bags!

On a side note, this Get Carried Away tote is so big that a couple nights after it arrived, I had a dream that I could climb inside it and sit down! :rotfl:

I am not familiar with the size--but on Southwest, I found the under the seat part to be quite roomy.

DD just had her suitcase carry on last week for our flights--and I was surprised that it did fit under the seats. Not sure the dimensions--but it is a child size "carry on" bag, but I would have assuemd it would have had to go in the overhead bin. It fit fine under the seat. (though her sister did have to lift her legs so that DD could maneuver it in there).

I have a large "turtle bag" that I had bought in Hawaii--I stuffed a kind-size feather pillow and my sons mickey blanket in there....the thing looks like it could be someone's triplets--and it got under the seat fine with room to spare. (I had my purse next to it).

If they say it fits, I would not worry one bit. But if you are bothered, check the dimensions list on the airlines webpage and measure your bag...if it is fabric and somewhat flexible with what you put in there--it should fit even if it is a half an inch or ince wider, longer, taller than it should be.

I use the Super Tote on trips and it fits fine under the seat in front of me. I think those bags are about the same size, so you shouldn't have a problem.

I keep looking at this tote and haven't ordered it yet...how much can you fit inside it? I have a large LL Bean tote bag that I use for the beach etc, but I don't want to use it for plane travel since it's so big and stiff, plus it's just one big space with no organizing type pockets like the VB's have. I must have organization! I usually check our bags and travel light with the carry on but after losing our luggage last year, I decided it really is a good idea to keep a change of clothes and necessities in a carry on just in case. Can I fit a lot in the super tote??

I went on an overnight trip to Chicago last summer and that was the only thing I carried. I had a change of clothes, toiletries, my usual things that I carry on a plane - book, ipod, knitting, etc., and had more than enough room. All of the little pockets are wonderful for stashing things in!

thanks. I went to a local store to check the super tote and the get carried away tote. I really like them both; I like that the get carried away tote has a zipper, but I can't justify the cost when I can get the super tote for $50 online! Now I'm trying to decide if I really need it; I have bunch of bags I could use but I really like the VB bags better. For our trip to CA we will still be checking bags since there's no way I can do carry on only but I do need to pack extra clothes in our carry ons plus all our carry on type stuff. Hmmm...decisions, decisions

Has anyone used the Super Tote or the Get Carried Away tote as well as a carry on when flying? I have the Super Tote I want to use as my bag and also have a carry on. We are flying Delta.

Thanks!

lol I laugh because I thought the same thing so I got the pleated tote I figured I'd get more errand running wear out of it and a large duffel for flying. I'm still trying to decide what kind of carry on to bring for two little ones 7 & 8 I want to avoid as much checked baggage but don't expect them to be able to carry a whole lot.
