Hi, I really could use your help before we approach the SM. I want to make sure my DS understood the information about the F&B prices.

When we found out about the rate increase my DS telephoned the SM he was dealing with to find out if he would still be able to get the $7500 custom wedding. The SM told him he would so we were not concerned. The contract came through yesterday with the $7500 price but the per guest amount for food and beverage was $125.00. My DS remembered he was stated a cost of $100.00 per person. I am assuming that was the cost prior to the price increase. Does anyone know if the price DS was given reflected the pre-increase price and the contract is showing the increase cost.

Also, shouldn't the contract reflect a children's price for food and beverage?

I'm sorry this became so long but we are working with a limited budget.

Thanks to all.

HI!

Well I'm not sure about a price increase because I think we are doing our ceremony right before your DS (December 16 is ours).

Did he change the venue? Anything at the Grand Floridian is $125 per guest for dinner.

Where is the reception? Lisa

I am not sure about the price increase situation b/c we were married on March 26, but regarding the contract... I dont believe our contract reflected the kids prices either, but we did receive them. They were on our estimated budget. We also paid a different amount for our guests that were under 21 for drinks - I believe it was $18 for a 5 hour open bar for under 21.

Hope this helps
Jamie

What are the kids prices? I am sure it varies....but could someone give me a general idea?

JonetteA -

The kid prices will vary, but for our Custom we did a buffett, and my kid prices for dinner were half of the regular price. That price applied for kids 9 years old and under. Everyone over 9 paid full price. Also, kids 3 and under were free.

Hope this helps
Jamie

If you need anything else, let me know!

I dont think that when the minimums were raised that they also raised the per person food minimums, but I am not sure. At the grand floridian and reception starting after 2PM has had a $125 p/p f&b minimum. Is that where his reception is?

We did a plated meal for the kids that consisted of chicken tenders, apple sauce, french fries, corn, and 'Dirt' for dessert. The cost of the meal was 19.95 Per kid. In theory, only kids under 9 are allowed to have the kids meal, but my EM let me extend it to the older kids as well.

We are doing a kids' buffet in addition to our adult buffet...the price for the kids' buffet is $20 (plus 26.5%), but they did tell me that if a child (3-9) eats from the adult buffet, it will be 1/2 whatever the adult price ends up being...I think I'm just going to corral all the little ones in a fenced in area til the adult buffet disappears;-)

Sounds like a good idea, but how will you really keep the older children from eating off the adult buffett? On the other hand, is Disney really going to count if they see a child eating from the adult buffett?? - doubt it! That was our problem, and I didnt want to get hit with another bill for food. We had everyone eat from the adult buffett, and it worked out nicely b/c all of the the different kinds of food we had. We did beef, chicken, pasta, and shrimp, so it worked for us.

We had kids that ate off the adult buffet (specifically the pasta station - in addition to their kids meal), which I hadn't planned on, and didn't budget/pay for. We weren't charged for it when we got the final bill a week after the wedding.

That's good to know, because I was really wondering how I would politely tell people that their kids weren't allowed near the adult buffet! I love the idea of the short buffet for the kids!!

The kids are allowed to eat whatever they want.

The mins for an after 2pm reception at GF is $125 per person, every place else the mins are $100 per person.

Also, kids are not counted as part of the "per person minimium". Children are those under the age of 10. We served a kids meal (Mickeyroni and Cheese, Chicken fingers, plus sides and a Chocolate pudding "Mud Pot" dessert) and it was around $21 per child. Your child prices will not be included in your contract.

And as Kami stated, all after 2PM F&B mins are $100 unless you are hosting at the GF, then it is $125. If it is before 2PM, then it is $75 except for the GF, which is $100, per person. All food and drink consumed by your guests on the wedding day counts towards that (to include your wedding cake). Some venues also have a F&B min, but those are NOT on top of the FTW F&B, they are concurrent with it.

Example:

You host an evening reception at Ariel's, which has a $25pp F&B, and you have a $100 FTW F&B, as long as you meet your FTW F&B, you are more then covered for the Ariel's requirements.
