Need help from those who have done Wishes Cruise..

We have our cruise planned for Saturday and I just thought of this question.
We are taking the cruise out of Contemporary and our resort we are staying at is the POP. So after the cruise is it best to take the monorail back to MK to the bus stop or walk from Contemporary to MK?

Those who have done the cruise what do you do after? Do you rush to wait for a bus? Do you hang out somewhere for a bit? Or does it take a bit after the fireworks to get back to the marina.

Sorry for all the questions but I just want to make sure I have it straight, plus we are meeting another family who it will be their 1st trip to WDW and they are sorta relying on us to get them back to their resort,All Star Movies.

After Wishes, there is a chance that the Electrical Water Pagent will be going on. If this is the case (It was on our cruise) the captain may allow you to view the pagent before heading back to CR. Ask him if you can. Our captain was happy to do so, and he got an extra nice tip for it. The first EWP stop is at the Poly.

After Wishes, MK usually closes so there will be lots of people waiting for the buses to get back to Pop. It will definitely be faster to walk from the CR to the MK buses.

We always rent a car at WDW. It is just so much more convenient to be able to drive back to the resort, especially mid-day for a pool break. I don't know how you feel about the car rental, but it always makes our trips so much more enjoyable, not having to wait for a bus, after waiting all day for attractions.

I also think that you would be better off walking unless you really want to ride the monorail. If you ride, you will basically do the entire loop before getting to the MK (last stop before you are back at the CR).

When we did the Wishes Cruise, the Electrical Water Pageant was before Wishes (our captain stopped to let us watch). Even so, it took a little while to get back to the marina after Wishes. The walk over to MK is a short, easy one. I would take a leisurely walk and enjoy the night.

We saw the Electric Water Pagent before Wishes when we went on the cruise on Easter. Our cruise left from WL and we were staying at POR so we decided to take the bus from WL to DTD and then catch a boat back to our resort. Fortunately for us, no one else got on the bus to DTD so we got our own private bus ride back to our resort after the Cruise. We had a bit more of a boat ride back to our Marina at WL than you would at CR so I guess you could say it was a few minutes.

Okay, I am in a similar situation...Wishes Cruise from WL then I have to get back to pop. Will the WL boat take me TO magic kingdom after the fireworks so that I can get the bus to pop?

We just did the cruise May 23 and our captain took us over to MK directly to catch our bus to the BW. We cruised around a bit after Wishes, saw ELP before and after the fireworks (guess its repeated). To those staying at WL, ask the captain to take you directly there. Regardless of where you get dropped off, tip the captain.
