Ok so here is the deal! We are booked for 7 nights at Disney with the free dining. Our dates our Aug 28 to Sept 4 then we are on the three night cruise.

We only have 1 day disney tickets and plan to go to MK on the 31st. So here is where I need help. We have decided to go to US/IOa and I have bought us the 7 day tickets with water park. I have been doing my research and it seems that by booking one night at an on-site Universal hotel we would benefit from the fastpasses for two days.

Here are my questions for the experts! Frist should we incure the extra $250 for two days worth of fastpasses (Is it worth it?)

Next with my dates would you pick Aug 29 to 30 or Sept 1 to 2 for the night. I guess the question would be which days would most likely be busier so that we would benefit more from the passes.

Also, what would be some of the comparsion wait times? For example this ride would have a ______ wait with fastpass as compaired to a ____ wait without.

And finally it shows that 5 is the max per room and if we have 6 can you share the passes. For example 4 go on a ride and then when they come off one of the 4 can give their pass to the extra person to use and the other two can go on. It is 2 adults and 4 children.

I was thinking that getting the room for one night would be a nice retreat in the afternoon if it was hot to be able to use the pool and shower and afternoon nap. We wouldn't need the room to sleep in as we would still have the suite at Disney. Futhermore, the price for one night of the hotel is abetter value for 5 fastpasses that are unlimted, as oposed to buying the ones that only give you one use per ride for two days.

This would be our first trip to US/IOA and not sure how all this works but from what I've been reading getting a room on site seems to be the way to go.

Any help would be greatly appricated.

this is against the Universal Studios rules.

Honestly, I don't get it. If you are planning on spending your vacation at Universal, you could have booked 2 rooms at the RPH for the 7 nights and still come out better than booking a suite at WDW. I know you got the free dinning, but with you spending all of your days at IOA/US, how will you utilize it? Also, have you considered the cost of your transportation and parking fees at universal? Even the hotel guests have to pay for parking.

I know this is not what you asked, but I am going to post it anyway. :)

If you stayed onsite at the RPH, you could get 2 rooms (you would have to do this with 6 people) at the super savers rate of $161 per night, per room. You would have FOTL everyday.

just something to think about.

We had booked and paid for Disney over a year ago. It was only recently that we looked into doing US/IOA. Right now I Know that we will do one day at each park, so I don't want to plan the whole vacation around that. I could look at cancelling the last night at Disney and booking a Universal hotel but the cheapest that I could find was over 200 on their website. Where do I get the super saver rate?

you'll have to book 2 rooms as you have 6 in your group. it is due to the fire code in that county for any hotel at universal is restricted to 5 individuals, including babies. universal can't budge on that as they could be shut down for violations of the law.

i don't know how anyone here can give you advice on "how to share" 5 guest hotel keys with 6 people as it is illegal.

it is against the disboard rules to post techniques to achieve something illegally. no one will attempt to tell you how to get 6 people in one room at the universal hotels. only registered guests will get the hotel room key with their name printed on it. that is your key to fotl

the supersaver rate is for 4 nights in a row.
there are some promo supersavers for 3 nights which includes park tickets.

it is on the universal website.
check under hotels.

the best way for you to do universal since you are locked in and prepaid disney is to do a day trip at UO and purchase the express passes.
if you find you enjoy it, then make your next vacation around staying at universal and do day trips to disney.

that way, you get the best of both worlds.
