Hi!

I am going on my first ever trip August 29th. We had not initially planned to go to the park our first day, but discovered that will be the only day we can see Spectro with the plans we already have.

So... we arrive at MCO at 4:30. We are doing ME to OKW, check-in then off to MK, Spectro is at 9pm.

We will have had breakfast, but nothing else when we get to OKW. We have a TS available so I booked at LTT for 7:40, now I am rethinking. I am just not thrilled with the menu ( mostly the sides). I tried to book CP but the only opening is at 9pm. I can get Tony's at 7:30.

What is everyone's opinion about the time frame I have and which of the two is the better restaurant choice? I checked Tony's and even if I don't want Italian they have a NY strip....

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

I'm not a big fan of either of your two choices. Would you consider eating at Kona or GF Cafe or someplace at a monorail resort at 7:00-ish and then head to MK? I would either do that or just get CS at MK and spend some time doing rides until it's time for Spectro.

Having a 7:30 or 7:40 ADR will be cutting it close for a 9pm Spectro. You should plan 90 minutes for your meal and then 30 minutes to stake out a spot for Spectro. With your flight arriving at 4:30 that doesn't give you enough time to make a 7:30 dinner anyway. You need to plan a minimum of 3 hours to get off the plan, ride DME, check into the resort and then get to your ADR. What if your flight is delayed or you have to wait for DME???

You would be much better to just have a CS dinner and then if there is time catch a ride or two. Then get a good spot for the parade.

We'll see you at the Parade! Going to CM at 5:30, then back to MK to find a seat. I hope the weather is nice. It's DD's 8th birthday and she really wants to stay up to see the parade and fireworks.

I agree, try the Wave or just a CS meal about 6 or so. I am not sure how early to start seat defending.

the op is flying in us, shouldbe at resort ~90 minutes, no customs :)

We took the ME on our last trip, our ETA was 6:05, so we figured enough time for an 7:55 ADR at our hotel (based on an average of 90 minutes), wrong - we sat on the ME for more than an hour before it took off, then our hotel was last. We arrived around 8:15, and after check in, we didn't get to the restaurant (O'Hanas) till approx. 8:45. Boy was I stressed out, but they managed to squeeze us in around 9:20. Originally we were going to go to Epcot, but decided (wisely) that there wouldn't be enought time. I recommend you do a counter service dinner if your goal is to see Spectra. This way you won't have to worry about making an ADR, then rushing to fit it all in. The Poly, GR and CR (all on the monorail) have nice QS spots, and I've eaten at all of them. For ease of getting in and out, I'd recommend the CR, although I ate there last in Jan, so I don't know if the new BLT has increased their foot traffic. Have fun on your trip!

I didn't say anything about customs.

If you figure the flight lands at 4:30....you are not off for about another 15 minutes or so....that's 4:45.....then add 90 minutes for DME......that's 6:15....go through check in and get to your room, maybe 15-20 minutes....that's 6:45....then get a bus to MK, add 30 minutes minimum....your already at 7:15.

That doesn't account for any delays.

I'm just sayin'.......:confused3

I agree, you probably wouldn't get to MK until 7-7:30, and you'll want to take it all in, as it is your 1st trip down Main St.! You could try a CS once you arrive-Casey's is right on Main St. if you just want to hang out in that area to get a spot for parade, or if you venture out to explore/hit rides, Cosmic Ray's in Tomorrowland or Pecos Bills in Frontierland(good vantage point for parade if you eat outside and get a front table I hear). Enjoy!
