Hello all!

So Im headed to the world for the end of August :goodvibes and it will be my first encounter with the Magic Bands. Now I get their purpose but I just have some questions about the situation.

So. I will be in the world for 11 days, but will only be staying on property (BLT) for two nights. The other nights I will be staying with family.

So I have the Magic Band ordered for BLT. But heres where I'm confused, I want to go to the parks for 5 daysish total. I plan on buying park tickets either online or when I get to the world.
So am I going to be able to link a 5 day park pass to my Magic Band, and use the same one after I check out of BLT?

Thanks!

Also, Is there no way to reserve fast passes in the park? Does everything have to be done in advance?

I think all guests are using MagicBands now, onsite and offsite, so I would think that a linked park ticket would work either way. There are FP+ kiosks in the parks that you can use. I've seen the ones at MK, they are located in the walkway between Adventureland and Frontierland near those restrooms, on the Frontierland side of the covered walkway.

To book FP+ in advance, you're going to need to purchase tickets in advance. If you choose not to do that, you can book at kiosks in the park, but there will be limited options day of.

I hope that helps.

Onsite guests get MBs automatically, offsites do not. Offsite guests can choose to purchase them, but they are not necessary and standard RFID tickets have the same capability.

I see what your saying here but I'm still confused. I will get a MagicBand when I stay at BLT for 2 nights. But am I going to be able to keep the Magic Band for the rest of my visit at the world while staying offsite. I plan on doing 5 park days. Also, how will it work to get Fast passes for rides, thinking I won't be at BLT anymore, but will still be going to parks?

As long as your ticket media is linked to your MDE account, which is linked to the Magic. Band, you will be able to enter the parks for as many days as were on your ticket.

You can book FPs in advance, 60 days as an on site guest and it should let you book for the entire length of your ticket.

As stated above, if you don't buy a ticket in advance and link it in MDE, you can't make advance FP reservations, only day of, in the park.

1. Yes.

2. You should be able to schedule 5 days of FP (based on your tickets) I believe at 60 days out, but honestly I'm not sure. See the green link in my signature for more info (but it doesn't cover more complex situations like split stays and onsite/offsite).

Think of the MDE website/app as the brains of the operation. You input your BLT stay, your ticket information, and your FP+ selections (made whenever you attach your ticket information). The Magic Band is linked to this website/brain with a RFID chip inside of it. It knows when your BLT reservations is, and will work accordingly. It knows how many days of park tickets you have, and will work accordingly...so on and so forth with FP+ reservations and any dining reservations.

I strongly suggest buying your tickets in advance, and linking them on MDE, that way you can pre-book your FP+ selections 60 days before your BLT stay.

Still muddy? MesaBoy's FP+ primer is a great resource.
