I have purchased a couple of golf outings for my husband and sons while in Florida, and am looking at golf bag holders to transport his clubs on the plane. I found this http://www.budgetgolf.net/xcart/product.php?productid=18828&cat=116&page=1 and was wondering if it would be OK. His clubs are nice but not noteworthy in any way. I would really appreciate some guidance.

TIA!

Michelle

That'll work. I've used something similar in the past. I usually pack something, towels, and/or jacket/sweatshirt around the heads to fill the voids. And if something should happen to his clubs, he's got an excuse to buy new ones. pirate:

It'll work. If he doesn't plan on travelling with his clubs very often, that one will be fine. I prefer a hard-sided travel case, but I take my clubs with me a couple times a year, so I get a lot of use out of it. :)

my husband has pings and he will only use the hard case one wal-mart had it for $50.00

Try to find a hard cover if you can... It is safer on the clubs.

Just my opinion though.

Hard Cover cases are harder to pack but will keep the clubs safer.

You should find one with Wheels! It makes it much easier in the airport when you have multiple bags.

I didn't even realize that one didn't have wheels!! You're right, don't get that one. Without wheels, it'll be a PITA.

I travel with a soft cover bag like the one you bought and I have never had any problems. I think it will be just fine. :)

The hard covers are better for obvious reasons but more costly.

Target has a line of Tommy Armour golf supplies and carry a nice soft sided travel bag on wheels for around the same price as what you posted. I have that and have used it many times with out problems. I think they have them available online. They are MUCH easier to store when you aren't using them then the hard sided ones. I wrap a beach towel around the club heads and I have never had an issue. I have PING clubs too.

Dh's parents bought him a hard-sided case for not much more than that (especially when you would add in shipping) at K-Mart a couple of years ago and he took it on our last trip. Worked really well.

You know, I would love to get him the hard case, but we have 6 people, one ECV, flying, one minivan, and 5 different hotels we will be in for 2 1/2 weeks. Soft-sided would be so much easier to hold on my lap in the van!

BTW, For my DH's pride, I didn't mean to say his clubs were trash, or anything! They just aren't a $3000 set! :rotfl:
