I am looking to get a few of the Star Wars Lego figures (Darth Vader, Droids, Chewbacca, Etc) - I just want to get a few pieces not the huge sets. We have a ton of legos and I just want to get my son a few pieces to add. I checked Ebay and Amazon, but they are still expensive - at least not when you add in shipping. They are so gosh darn expensive! I didn't think it would be so much for just a couple of loose legos. I am currently on unpaid maternity leave and wanted to reward DS1 w/ a little present, but don't want to break the bank for them.
Anyway, if anyone has any suggestions as to where I might be able to pick up a few pieces at a good price, please let me know. Thanks!

Legos and budget don't go together unless you get really lucky and find them on clearance. And it usually doesn't apply to Star Wars. Toys R Us had a buy one get one 50% off Sunday, but it didn't apply to Star Wars. Someone on here said Target had some on clearance, but of course they were gone right away.

I got my DS6 a set of three SW Lego characters, Darth Vadar, Chewy, and Luke Skywalker at the Lego Store for $10. I don't know if you have a store near you but I bet you could get them online? Here they are...they little guys are like regular Lego people, but they come on a magnet that is detachable.

There is also a Lego StarWars Dictionary/Encyclopaedia that comes with an exclusive mini-figure. It's not cheap, but it's a wonderful way to keep a lego star wars nut entertained and you can sometimes get it at B&N or Borders with a coupon.

I also recommend going to the online store to get the figures. In addition to the magnest there are also a couple of small sets that is relatively inexpensive (for legos anyway) that come with 4 starwars figures each.

I would also recommend searching e-bay not for Lego StarWars but for the individual figures searching in the text of the listing as sometimes people list a ton of figures as a mixed bag (you know us moms who's kids are getting older and are clearing out the buckets and buckets of legos that the kids are outgrowing :rolleyes1 ).

Last July, I hit a really good sale at the Lego store. I got a big farm for at least 40% off. There was also some guy buying 10 Star Wars things to sell of ebay. And, in January, I got 75% off more farm sets. My kids like the farm duplos.

Borders carries Star Wars Legos. Wait for the 40% off one item coupons to come out and you can usually use them on the SW Legos. This is the cheapest that I've ever found them-although they don't have a huge selection-maybe 3 or 4 different sets.

I often get legos from Borders with the coupon, but not much to chose from.

Walmart "rolled back" some of them not too long ago so I picked up a ship for $20, not a great deal, but better then what it was.

I hit our Target, totally picked over on the clearance ones but we had most or didn't want them really once I read the tags.

Star Wars legos really are a budget buster most of the time! I sometimes will buy the keychains and DH snips the key part off so DS can just have the character.

The dictionary was in the lakeside catalog for a decent price the other day. www.lakeside.com I got mine from Amazon after waiting months for it even though it showed in stock. DS loves it.

We are just getting into Star Wars legos BIG time! I can't believe re-sell prices on them. The same exact "figures" people are listing on Ebay can be found on the Lego site (the newer ones anyway.)

Truly amazing the markups!!

I agree, don't try to put legos and budget and star wars in the same sentence. We all have tried, we have all failed miserably. You may be lucky to find them 30% off, but that is rare and you shout from the rooftops when you do.

I've found them at Kmart during the toy clearance sales. I got DH that giant ship that was selling for $150 for way under $100. I want to say $75-ish? And I was able to use a $5/$50 coupon on top of that.

You never know what might be available so it's worth it to check them out every once in a while if you have one close by.

Why doesn't anyone call Lego direct ? You can order pieces sold in any sets for a price and have it shipped to you. In the back of any one of the design books that come with kits, you can get a lego number and order just a "replacement part" on that piece. I have ordered a few pieces this way, more girls, extra ski's, snowboards, people parts, and lights for inside the buildings. It has to be a current set offered.

Lol...I ordered the dictionary from abc distributors for my nephew's bday present ($8.95!) and when DS saw it came w/ a figurine he got on a kick about ordering just 1-2 guys. I had no idea Borders sold legos, so I'll check there, and maybe try calling lego too.
Thanks for the suggestions! I know that the sets aren't cheap, but really thought I could get a better deal on resale! Now I know...:thumbsup2

If you have a kohls card go online and type in star wars they have several sets and you can use the 30% code Sizzling30 and if you order over 75 dollars you get free shipping too I got some and some of the wall sickers for my son starting my Christmas shopping early hope this helps
