Elgar's Pomp and Circumstance (real title: March #1 in D) *is* the most popular processional used for graduations, but it isn't required by some mystical God of Graduation Music. At my college graduation we walked in to Mendelssohn's War March of the Priests, which IMO is a refreshing change.
If they don't know what they want, perhaps you might ask the music teacher to suggest some appropriate pieces? If you don't have a music teacher of your own, ask a music minister at a church.
Classical music CD's are easy to come by, just look in a music store. The sort of songs you are looking for will probably be described as marches. NPR did a small story on the topic of graduation music a while back, it has several suggestions: http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=1273081
Our high school used "Procession of the Nobles". WAY better than Pomp and Circumstance. Doesn't your school have a band or orchestra? Our schools all use the band and/or orchestra for the graduation music.
It might be easier and cheaper to just burn the songs you want onto a cd. If you don't have a writer, I'm sure it would be easy to find another parent that could do it for you.
