Hi we are planning a trip to the World in March 2006. We are a larger group of approximately 24 people. We will need to stay off property this time :guilty: to make it cost friendly to a couple of the families that are going (their first trip). We are looking to rent 3 vacation houses between all of us. Can anyone help point us in the right direction?

We are looking into Emerald Island Resort (Mickey's Emerald Retreat). Has anyone had any experience with this resort? I would love to hear any feedback on this particular resort or suggestions for other properties.

Thank you

Go to the Orlando hotels board here on the Dis and post your question there. They are very friendly and helpful and many have stayed in the rental houses. I have been tempted but never brave enough to go off site, but the extra space and lower price do sound wonderful! :goodvibes We have taken many trips with extended family and loved every one of them! have fun!

Thank you, I will do that. We are looking forward to this trip. I love going with people who have never been. We would love to stay on property again but this will make it affordable for the other families.

When my family would go in large groups we would stay at the Sheraton Vistana Villas. They are very nice. It is like a tropical village. there are many pools, a general store, health club and beautiful 1,2,3 bedroom villas. I know they are cheaper than staying on-site but it was a while ago so I am not sure of the price now....it was also not far from everything!

p.s- I think they give a group rate

My family went some years ago. We stayed at a Quality Inn in Kissimmee. I'm not sure which one though. We got a suite for $67 a night and it had a FULLLLL I mean FULLLLLLL continental breakfast. Almost anything you wanted they had it, donuts, cereal, etc. A lot of food. It was awesome.

:flower: Go to Hotelkingdom.com. We got a 2 bedroom condo at the Cypress Pointe Grand Villas for a great price there. They have 3 bedrooms at this location too. Hotelkingdom also has rental properties available there, I believe.

Good luck!
