I am looking for an inexpensive twin size mattress for a child. Any ideas on where to look either in person or online? I would like to spend < $200 and don't need the box spring. Any thoughts on ikea? Or another store to look at?

Thanks, Jen

We bought an ikea mattres this summer and was very happy with quality and price. I needed a queen and box spring and my budget was 500.00 and i did just that!

I use shopzilla.com to get an idea of where something is cheapest.

Also take a look at ebates.com. Basically all you do is shop through their site, and you get percent cash back on stuff you buy in the form of a rebate check they automatically send you. I've made over $100 there since Christmas, just bringing up their site and shopping through there.

Also, if you're going to buy online, once you've found a place you want to buy from, Google "promo codes" for that store, or just check retailmenot.com. I've gotten everything from 20% off to free shipping from codes I've found there.

We bought twin mattresses from www.hayneedle.com for our girls twin bunk beds (they were actually free with the bed purchase). At around the same time, our friend was looking for a mattress for her daughter and found the best deal at Sam's Club, but I cant remember how much it was.

Costco...normally $149 for a twin mattress (Sealy), but if you get the coupons they have a $30 off coupon that may still be good if you hurry. Even without the coupon, it's the best quality you'll find for that price

Do you have a local manufacturer? We have two in this area and they always seem to have very competitive prices and high quality. I bought our king set at a sale of mismatched fabric patterns. Who sees the mattress anyway?

When we bought DD's twin last year I shopped EVERYwhere to find her mattress (also didn't need a boxspring). I bought the bunkie board at either Bedding Experts or American Matress (can't recall which) for about $30 and the Sealy mattress at Costco for $130.

We recently replace the king set in our bedroom, got a very nice Simmons, mid to high end set. When DD has a nightmare and I end up asleep in her bed for a bit I find I like her mattress almost as well as my own!

I bought a very comfortable twin mattress for $150 at Costco. They seem to have them all the time, and once in a while, they go on sale for $99!

I found a local store that sold inexpensive new mattresses on craigs list
It seemed better than the one I bought at biglots

We got the tempurpedic like foam mattresses from walmart online, ship to store for free. We got king and queen sizes but I looked for twin/doubles for the boys, they were less than $150, and I love the king and queen we bought, very comfortable.

I got these in twins for our daybed and trundle. Love them.

Big Lots there are around $80-$90 for a twin. I was going to get DS8 his there, but the local furniture store had it for cheaper that was next door to Big Lots.

Big Lots has Sealy mattresses that are very firm. BJ's, Sam's and sometimes you can a decent price at one of those mattress places. Furniture stores that sell mattresses sometimes have the floor models for cheap.
