I'm from Orlando but have finally decided to take a sidetrip to Anaheim for the first time. I'm arriving next Saturday, however all the Disneyland Resorts are completely booked, so it looks like I'll be off-site for a day (Saturday night).. Can anybody reccommend a nice, clean, safe, good-priced ($110 and under) and CLOSE (i'd like to walk to Disneyland) off site hotel to stay at? I've looked at expedia, but being that i've never been there, i'd rather get help from fellow Dis'ers who know the area better and know what is walking distance, what's safe/clean...etc. :) Any help is appreciated! :thumbsup2

Also, as a side note, anybody have any reccmendations on what area/room I should request while i'm staying at the Disneyland hotel?

Two hotels that get a lot of recommendations from DL veterans are the Candy Cane Inn and the HoJo. Both are within walking distance.

If you don't mind paying a bit extra, you can get a DLH room with a view of the park(s) or a view of the DLH pool area. Park view might even have a view of the evening fireworks (if you're not staying in the park for that.)

We just stayed at Candy Cane Inn at the end of May and loved it - nice rooms, good continental breakfast, dependable shuttle that is only for CCI, easy walk to parks, convenience store right next door, beautiful property - highly recommend it.

Our nightly rate was $102 for a deluxe room (that's with a AAA discount).

Good luck with your decision.

We stayed at the Tropicana last year, and will be staying there again this year. It's nothing fancy, but a safe, clean place to crash. It's a moderately priced hotel, and it's right at the cross walk to Disneyland. It was convenient enough for us to bring our ds back to the room for naps last year, as I'm sure we will be doing again this year.

Good luck!

I also agree with the Candy Cane Inn. We were there at the end of May and it was fantastic!

we stay at the ramada maingate. It defintely isn"t fancy...but so convenient...a nice big pool, and so close...

I concur with Candy Cane. I also like Del Sol. VERY close, huge rooms. Pool a bit over-chlorinated when we were there, but everything else was nice.

Park Inn/Camelot. The records stuck, the records stuck.Any hotel from 1500 to 1600 south Harbor is really close to the crosswalk. CCI is a little further south, but no crosswalks involved. :cool1: my $.02.

We just got back on Sunday (6-11-06) and stayed at the Carrosel Inn. It was very close and clean. Nothing fancy but we were only there to sleep. It seemed to me that all of the hotels on Harbor St. were about the same. Candy Cane may be a little nicer but it is a farther walk. The Carrosel and Tropicanna are right across the street and the Maingate is too. If you don't need deluxe rooms all should be OK.

Just a bit further north on Habour Blvd is the Howard Johnson and I can vouch for this being a very safe, clean hotel to stay in! I was there for three night and had a very pleasant stay!

We have tried lots of the hotels on Harbour and think the nicest one for the $ is the Candy Cane Inn (not that the other ones are not OK...). It is easily as nice as the moderates at WDW.
