My fiance and I are thinking about taking a quick overnight trip to Niagara Falls on Sunday (5/30). We want to stay on the Canadian side and hit the nickle slots at the casino. Since we are saving for a Sept trip to WDW we want to go as cheaply as possible to the Falls.

Anybody have any suggestions for a VERY cheap motel within walking distance of the casino? I'm talking less than $50. Since it's a Sunday night on a holiday weekend I'm having problems finding a cheap rate that isn't sold out.

I need help and fast! I was hoping for the Skyline deal that gives you money back in tokens but the weekend rate is like $170 American. Way too much.

So far I see the Diplomat Inn for $32+ within a mile from the casino. Still quite a walk.

Thanks for any suggestions.

The packages on the site comeseecanada.com are a little more pricey than what I think you are looking for (but I enjoyed looking at them!). Try
Days Inn Fallsview
for better rates. This hotel is just steps from the casino, about a block and a half from Clifton Hill(which you don't want to miss- it's about the tackiest place you will ever find but it's a lot of fun) and about 2 blocks from the Falls.
We have stayed here and don't let the name fool you- It's not a bad place at all. I would be weary of anything under $40 a night in Niagara Falls. I once checked into a motel/hotel at a rate of 35.00 a night went to the room and checked right back out again. It was horrible.
Try Discover Niagara too.
This gives you a list of hotels/motels in the area and the descriptions are pretty accurate.
Have a great overnight trip!

edited to add:

The Skyline Inn is another choice for you.. The rates are about $59cdn a night. CHeck this website out for more information

Try the website www.biddingfortravel.com and see what has been coming up lately for Niagara Falls.

Then perhaps try Priceline.com?

Also, a little tidbit about the NF Casino - they do have a non-smoking floor. I think it's the one below the main entrance, but can't really remember  (instead of looking for it - just smell for it!)

Let us know how you made out.

Also don't forget that on the American side of the falls in a new Casino. Seneca Niagara also within walking distance of the falls. If crossing the bridge is not an issue I also enjoy the falls on the American side it is more on the natural side as you can be right at the waters edge when it goes over, also goat island is very rustic also right at the edge. For the view, the Cdn side for the power the American side. My husband and I usually did both and walked over the bridge. But you might want to check before hand with the new hightened terror alert today.

Seneca Niagara also has penny slots! No great payout...but still fun.

the non-smoking is one floor down from the main floor.

Poochie I also live in a small village and used to live in a different small village growing up.

Nancy I won $200 on the 2 cent Spinx machine in the non smoking area. :jumping2:

My MIL is hooked and she always manges to convince my DH and I to take her at least once a month. I had to tell her to hold off this month and I needed to save for our trip to WDW in June.

200! Good for you...I'm lucky if I come home with the same amount I went in with!

I wanted to add. If you book through the casino niagara site here they will give you continental breakfast and $10 worth of tokens to use at the casino if you join the players advantage club (PAC- you can join on line and it's free) ! I figure it's like $20 off your room.
