need help finding a marine

I just know SOMEONE here will know how to do this.

We've supported a marine for months now. He gave our name to another marine and we got a letter out of the blue from this new guy. We've since been sending packages to both of them. Today I received a beat up box in the mail. It's the last package we sent to this new marine. It has stickers all over it that say "marine no longer with this unit."

Ok, it's the government...I know they could track this guy and get his package to him! It had Mickey pretzels in it for crying out loud!! He NEEDS those!

Is there a way I can some how track this guy?

I'm not sure that there is really any way to get this information from the military. But I'm certainly not terribly familiar with the marine's protocol in this area so that may not be true. My suggestion would be to contact his buddy that you've been sending packages to also and see if he has the information. That would take a while though because of the lag time in sending and receiving letters.

I am not sure either. I know that the military is definately not one to give up personal info to people. I can barely get info about deployments etc!.

Thanks guys! I tried thefew.com and ended up with a dead end...would only give me his name, pay grade, etc, but not how to contact him. I searched for the buddy (the original guy) and he had an email link....so I emailed a note and said if he knew anything to let me know.

Hopefully I'll find him. Hate to leave him high and dry!

As the mother of a Marine who has recently returned home, I wish I could give you the answer you're looking for....but I can't.

The military is just so protective - as they should be. To give you an example, when Bobby left, he had to fill out "next of kin" paper work. He put my name on everything. Because of that, the military would not release ANYTHING, not even a phone call to anyone else in the family - only me. Thankfully, DH and I are married and live under the same roof, but you can imagine how sticky this can get with divorced parents - and only one getting the information, and expected to "share".

I'm afraid your only hope is to reach the original Marine.
