We are going to be staying at the Beach Club Villas in Oct/Nov. We will be driving down from OH. We normally drive to the bottom of GA, and then stay the night there, leaving a 4 hour drive or so the next morning. This year, we want to drive all the way to Orlando, and stay the night offsite, so we essentially get a full day at the parks our first day there.

I am a bit overwhelmed with all of the offsite options. We don't need a suite, just a basic hotel room for one night, close to Disney. If we could find something nice and clean, preferably with a free breakfast, for less than $75 or so, we would be happy. Can anybody suggest a hotel that fits the bill?

Thanks for your responses, I'll be doing more research in the meantime.

Andy

You can get Comfort Suites Main Gate East for $75 for dates at the end of October or beginning of November on www.hotelmartusa.com This hotel has free deluxe continental breakfast with fresh fruit, yogurt, pastries, and make your own waffles. There are some decent reviews on the reviews board above. My mom and sister stayed hear and enjoyed it.

Thanks Amy, I will definitely keep this one in mind. Looks nice, from what I can see.

I would use Hotwire for just 1 night. You enter what area you want and they list a bunch of hotels and tell you the price and how many stars the hotel is rated. You find out the name of the hotel after you buy. The Orlando area is broken down into about 6-7 areas to choose from such as MCO, DTD, LBV, Universal/Sea World, West of Disney, etc.
My neighbor got the Hyatt right inside MCO for only $65/nt. :woohoo:
For our upcoming Sept. trip we have a late arriving flight so I got the Wingate Inn (3*) near MCO for only $49 + tax and includes free cont. breakfast for all 4 of us.
I probably wouldn't use HW for a whole vacation but for 1 nt wouldn't mind. Personally I wouldn't chance going lower than 2.5*.
There is a website that can help you identify which hotel is being offered before you buy so I knew I was getting the Wingate before purchasing.

I also used their help to get my parents the Renaissance by Marriott near Port Everlades in Ft. Lauderdale for 1 nt. prior to a cruise. The reg. price is about $300/nt and they only paid $113 +tax. :cool1: Downside is it's non-refundable so once you pay you can't change anything.
good luck :thumbsup2

Thank you very much for this info, it helps a ton. I was a little leary of hotwire or priceline, because you don't know what hotel you will get. However, if you can specifiy the star rating, I guess it should be fine. We are only going to be there overnight anyways, probably from 6pm the one night, leaving out early the next morning.

One more question...am I better off going thru hotwire now for a room at the end of Oct, or waiting til we are closer to the date? We'd be checking in Oct 26 and out on the 27th.

Thanks again.

We always spend one night at the StayBridge Suites in Lake Buena Vista. They always have a great breakfast!

If you read around on betterbidding, they will say it's undecided whether it's better to wait or just jump on it when you see something good. In my own experience, we booked the Wingate back in like March or April and now it's no longer showing when I search our date. Yes, there's others available but they were 2.5* for the same $.
I also booked my parent's night at the Rensaissance back around the same time and their cruise isn't until Feb. 08 and that hotel is also gone.
I guess it's a matter of how much you want a certain place and how stressed out you'll be to not get it.
glad I could help! :goodvibes
