DH and I are looking for a good digital camera to buy. We know absolutely nothing about digital cameras at all. We have a Jam Cam right now and it doesn't work very well for eBay. The lighting has to be "just right" and the images aren't very clear. Is there a camera out there for under $100 that will take decent pictures with clear resolution? If so, where can I buy it? We want to use the camera for eBay and for our next trip to WDW. Thanks!

Check out Target for digital cameras. I bought a 3.1 megapixel HP Photosmart 435 camera and an HP 7660 photo printer for a grand total of $199.00. The camera takes great pictures. I used it recently for my WDW vacation and was very pleased. Also, Target sometimes has discontinued digital cameras for around $100.00.

I am not a digital camera expert. I won't even pretend to be one. When I was doing my research this summer I decided on the Fuji Fine Pix 2650. It is a 2 megapixel camera w/3x optical zoom. I have used it inside, outside, for eBay and love it! The pictures print very nicely also. I was able to get it for around $125 on eBay. I just checked eBay and there are plenty up for sale now.

My MIL and my BIL both have similar Fuji digital cameras (different model #'s and they love theirs).

Happy digital camera shopping.

Hi, I just went through this... I too posted for help, but on the Community Board. You might want to do a search on the CB, there are several threads about digital cameras.

Anyway, I ended up buying a Nikon Coolpix 3100 (3.2 megapix), it cost about $299. I'm new to digital photography and I'm still playing with it and getting used to it. But I did a lot of research on different web sites before I bought. They also make a Cookpix 2100 (2 megapix) which costs about $199.

I bought a 3.2 Kodak digital camera a few months back. I had been taking pictures for ebay with the digital camera option on my camcorder - not good picture quality at all but ok for ebay. I had problems ebaying with the 3.2 camera because the picture size was too large. I had a friend (who has an ebay business) tell me that for ebay purposes a 2.0 or below is best. Just wondered if anyone else had problems with higher resolution cameras.

No, you can resize the photo with a program for photo manipulation. I use MGI photo suite lll. You don't need to purchase a lower mb camera for ebay.

Gail is right, chances are the photo program that came with your camera will allow you to reszie the image for screen resolution (may also be for E-Mail). Just make sure you save the file as a different file name. The resolution you use for E-Bay isn't really suitable for printing.
