We have only been to unviersal once and that was for a day trip from Disney in 2007, we had a horrible time mostly due to the fact it was at the end of a commando 10 day trip with no breaks, learned that lesson now. Anyway we are planning to go after our beach/rest day this year. we have a new challenge I now have MS and will require the use of an ECV for walking of any kind of distances.

How does the ECV work with the rides?

One of our other frustrations was the locker situation. Can you leave a lanyard on on the rides and can DH keep his wallet in his pocket? We can just leave the back pack with ponchos etc on the ecv would that be safe?

Express passes would be $269 dollars for the day:scared1: Do we really need them if we have a good plan?

We have the 2 park 1 day with transportation tickets.

Must do's are all the coaster/thrill rides. Wouldn't mind doing wwohp but it is not a deal breaker.

Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated.

What kind of ECV will you be using? If it's the kind with the handlebars in front (such as the ones available at Universal for rent), they are too large to go through the attraction queues and you will either need to walk or transfer to a manual wheelchair (the attractions have transfer wheelchairs available, just ask the greeter standing out front of the ride). Here's a Rider's Guide that can help you with each individual attraction:

On rides that require lockers you can keep anything that fits in a pocket. I wouldn't leave anything unattended outside, but if you choose to transfer to a wheelchair you can keep your things in the chair while you ride. Again, nobody will be there to watch your things so you may opt to get a locker.. it's safer, and it isn't really that big of a hassle (at least, in my opinion).

As for Express Pass, you can always buy them at the park after you arrive. That way you can scope out the crowd/wait times and gauge whether or not it is worth it.

It is a rental but we will be renting one for the entire stay. So where do you park it prior to the ride?

Any suggestions on touring plans to make the most of the day with the least amount of waits?
