need help deciding what month to go.

my family and my sister in laws family are planning on making plans for a trip this year and want to go in either spring or fall. i want to go when the parks are not too extremely crowded. and possibly when it is cheaper time to go. could use any advice you can give. thanks!

We have done well with discounts, low airfare etc. either the last week of October 1st week of November or 1st week of December. Nice weather, no crowds and off peak prices. We loved going last year in December. Got cheap airfare, paid 132 for a room at the WL, and really enjoyed the Christmas shows and decorations. Do you have kids in your party? That could determine when you could go. If you could, and want to see the decorations, go early December, pull the kids from school.

Another vote for Fall. We are going in a few days, I love this time of year. We went 1st week of Dec 2002 and we have so many pictures were it looked like we were the only ones there.

- 2nd week of Jan thru 1st wk of Feb
- wk after Labor day until Thanksg
-wk after TG thru wk before xmas

Average:
-1st wk of Jan
-2nd wk of Feb until Pres wk
- end of Feb thru 2nd wk of Mar
-last wk of Apr thru May

Most crowded:

We went in 2001 (the week before 9/11) last week of Aug/1st week of Sept (left on labor day) and we walked all the way up to the ride/boat at Splash Mtn. I thougt it was closed..we kept walking thru the que and never saw anyone!!! We actually caught the CM's leaning against the railing and jumped up when they saw us entering! Don't know if there was a parade going on but that was really cool!!

Fall. I went to WDW From Nov 9th-15th. It was wonderful! The weather was perfect, and it wasn't too crowded either. We arrived at the park early and we were able to go on all the rides we wanted to (pretty much twice), before noon. And the longested we waited in line was 20 minutes. But other than that, we were able to walk all the rides.

thanks guys sounds like a fall trip might just be in the plans. are all the rides usually open then or do they shut some of them down? i figure the water parks will be closed what about the pools at the hotels?

We were in the World last Sept and it was great. Yes, the park hours are shorter but lines are WAY shorter. Lots of rides were walk ons. Both water parks will be open in Sept as well. It's still rainy season, which is actually great. When it rains, the parks empty out. Well, goodbye wimps! I'm riding PotC five times in a row! BTW, the weather is still pretty darn hot and humid, so be prepared.

You'll have fun no matter when you choose to go!

I'm the oddball I suppose, coz I vote for May. (Just look at my signature already!)
DH and I always go the third to last week of May, (annivesary is the 22nd) and we've never encountered bad wait times while there. The longest I believe I remember was 60 minutes for Pooh, but that was around noon on an EE day. We had already ridden it twice that morning, so it didn't bother me one bit. Oh yeah, Splash Mountain had a 90 minute wait one time, but we had beaten that one too.
I chose not to visit Disney any other time but May. The weather is great, hot and humid maybe, but I live in FL so I'm used to that. So for me...it's May or nothing.
