Hi! We're going on a 7 day cruise, but are arriving at WDW mid-day the day before, and coming back to WDW for two nights following cruise. We're not going to do the commando-type park thing, maybe stroll around the World-showcase at EPCOT, see the fireworks at MK, see Hoop-di-Doo and Fantasmic. I'm thinking about BWI after cruise to be near EPCOT, but having trouble deciding how to spend the night before. Any thoughts about where to stay, and what to do before the cruise without hitting parks? I don't really want to spend time riding back and forth on the bus, so I want to be at a resort close to something to do. Will have DD 4 and DS10. Thanks for your help!!!

The Beach Club/ Yacht Club Resorts are also in walking distance to Epcot or Boardwalk. The "Stormalong Bay" pool is a big hit with kids young and old. The pool at the BWI is nice, but IMHO, nothing like SAB. One of those resorts may be a nice place to stay if your kids love large and fun pools. Check out mousesavers.com for more ideas. Have a wonderful cruise!

I'd go with a monorail resort for your first night. Grand Floridian, Polynesian and Contemporary are the three monorail resorts which give you almost door-to-door access to the MK. If you don't want to do a park, I'd recommend a lagoon view room at the Polynesian or GF or a Tower room with a MK view at the Contemporary so that you and your family can watch the fireworks from your balcony/patio the night before your cruise. That would be a great way to start the vacation!

I also think staying at BWI is a great idea for after the cruise. There is soooooooo much to do just in that resort area. You will love it!!!!!

Hope this helps! Have a great trip!

I recommend (if $$ isn't a problem) the BC/YC. Great resort and a great location. If you need to scale down price wise then try PORS, its got a boat ride to DD!

I would probably go with the YC/BC. I feel that the setting there is nicer and not as loud and bustling as it is at the Boardwalk.

Since your going to be at an epcot resort following the cruise, I would pick a monorail resort to be near magic kingdom, Even if you don't go to the park that day, you could eat at chef mickey's, shop around the monorail resorts, watch the fireworks from the top of the CR or from the beach of gf or poly! Another way to go could be Animal kingdom lodge! Watch the animals right from your room! or go to animal kingdom, you can do most of this park in a few hours! ;) MKY
