Biergarten Dinner (Tier 1) is $44.99

Rose & Crown Dinner (Tier 2) is also $44.99

I can't decide which would be a better choice for the CP Package. We have never been to either restaurant and we aren't on the dining plan. It will just be me, DH and our DS11.

Biergarten is usually $28.99 for dinner. Do you think it's worth paying the mark-up just for the CP? I'm just not sure since I've also never been to the CP.

Which would you recommend and why?

Please advise b/c I'm really stumped.

Go to allears.net and check out the menus. I think it's really about preference. I like Biergarten-and German food in general, but have never been to Rose and Crown. Biergarten has a nice selection but you do have to sit at "communal" tables so if that is something you would not enjoy, don't go there. The whole thing w/CP is to have a reserved seat which is helpful as the lines are very long starting very early. I guess as far as value, you would really have to check the menu out and see what you would order at R&C.
Hope that helps a little.

I've done dinner at both places and enjoyed them both (I've got an ADR for my second trip to R&C in Oct.). I have only done the CP package at Biergarten (2007/third week of Dec.). We were on the DDP so it only made sense to go for the CP package, if I were paying OOP I'm not sure what I would do.

I will say that Biergarten and Germany in general is one of the most Xmas decorated areas in EP. At Biergarten they had lots of decorations and the oohmpa band played Xmas music, including the bells. I booked it for the decor, not the food, but was pleasantly surprised. The group table didn't bother us (party of 4) as much as I feared it would.

We did the earliest seating (5 pm ish) and headed to the CP theater 30+ min before showtime. When you get your check at the restaurant the waitress will bring your stickers/tickets. When we got there the line was already huge. I thought maybe I had the wrong side and that we were looking at the non-ticket holders' line, but nope, that was it. Our seats were ok. We were fairly close in, but all the way to the left so while we could certainly see everything, the narrator looked pretty tiny from our vantage point.

I don't know that this helps, but overall I'd say Biergarten is a good choice, whether you go with the CP package or not. Be prepared to wait on long lines for a good seat regardless. Perhaps you're going earlier in the holiday season and it won't be so bad. Judging by the lines I was glad we did the package since it guaranteed that we got a seat at all.

Thank you for your input. We are leaning towards trying Biergarten, but I'm just a little hesitant to pay that much for a buffet. It does sound quite festive, though. :santa:
