Need help deciding... I'm so indecisive

Where should the Aussie Travellers go

  • Anaheim, Las Vegas - stick with our original plans - 19 days

  • Hawaii - Aulani and Waikiki - 2 weeks of relaxation

  • Tokyo - Disneyland and Tokyo - 10 days

My vote would probably go with TDL - although I dont know if I would want to go in December - unless your a skier. I am such a sook - I dont like too cold or too hot!

From my reading - Japan is extremely safe, I would have no hesitation in travelling on my own. The language barrier could be an adventure.

I would also consider staying in the Disney area and travelling to the other areas by train - no matter where you stay you will probably want to visit other areas and will take you 30 minutes to get to anyway. :moped::drive:

The Disney partner hotels look great and are reasonably priced, although if you want to stay at MiraCosta you will have to make your decision soon as it is a bit like ADRs you have to make your booking 6months out or you dont get in! :confused3

PMSL you're a shocker :rotfl2:

yep...

at least my frame of mind fits in with everyone else here today...vague with a touch of paranoia:teacher:

its been one of those days.......must be because its windy....they do tend to go a bit to the left when its windy :crazy2: pirate:

Windy? Seems like a normal sort of day to me......;)

I think my vote goes to TDL as naturally I'm biased with my own trip coming up, but $200 flights are crazy ridiculous!

But I can't do cold... Not one bit of it, I'm sitting in my office today, where it's maybe 20 outside, and the heater is on inside, and I'm in a big warm coat that I've been in all day...

So I agree with the hot or cold decision :confused3

Looks like Tokyo is taking the lead!

I'll get all of them added to my excel chart and maybe the cheapest option will win out :confused3

I am spitting potato chips! :furious: The $200 flights are gone! GONE GONE GONE!:sad::sad: Why on earth didn't I just jump on them! Oh well, between now and December surely more will come up :surfweb:

Just saw that I missed your post. Sorry for ignoring you

Thanks for all of that great info. Yes I read something yesterday about someone booking MiraCosta at 6 months out and they were so excited to get a room and she had done it right on the release time :confused3 So I then did a dummy check for exactly 6 months out (november) and I could only get a suite :scared1: How odd that it sells out so quickly and also, odd that they only take hotel reservations 6 months out :confused3

I looked at the Sheraton and the Hilton and they were half the price, very reasonably priced and seem to be on the TDL monorail, so easy to access the parks.

This is going to sound crazy, but I read something about radiation in Japan still being a problem :scared1: and I got a little worried then. Don't know if that is rubbish or not, you never know who to believe. I'm leaning towards rubbish. How far is TDL from that fu kushima (spelling??) area does any one know?

Thanks for that PIO :goodvibes

That seems to say it's ok and the food too, that they are monitoring and restricting food from contaminated reigions. That's what someone said to me this arvo when I mentioned going. They said "omg, you won't be able to eat, a lot of the food is still contaminated and you won't know whats ok and what's not" :rolleyes2

With Japan being one of the few countries I haven't travelled to I really would love to go, particularly with my love of Disney. It would knock another Disney park off my list :cool1: Then I'd just have HK to do (oh and Aulani, but that's not a park I guess).

I voted for TDL because you've not been there before and I've always thought Japan would be a fun place to visit. But I didn't really consider the weather, I am a sook when it comes to cold weather so I think I'd be saving Japan for another time of year. Why not do what we are doing, 1 week DL and 1 week hawaii? I'd be happy with any of those options so I'm not a lot of help :confused3

i vote for hawaii and a nice, easy, lovely, relaxing trip.

we wanted to do a big trip to a new destination but we decided to do 1/2 and 1/2 - so we're doing the cruise (new) and anehim and disneyland (our home away from home)

i say, a trip where you can feel comfortable and at home and relaxed is always a good thing :)

Yes it would be nice and easy.

But so would my original (anaheim, vegas). Tokyo would be too I suppose if we just did TDL with day trips around other places.

Why oh Why are there so many options! Why oh Why do I read these TR's on Dis and find new ideas? Why oh Why have my annoying friends who love to travel and post photos on FB? I have a friend off to the US in a couple of weeks, she's going to LA, Vegas and NY, so I bet her photos as she travels will draw me back to LA/Vegas :confused3

i dont think i can vote twice...oh and my foxtel is on the fritz so cant watch big bang.....damn you telstra:mad:

hawaii..but it does get windypirate:

Don't forget Shanghai is currently being built... :rolleyes1

I completely get the whole "comfortable" holiday thing. I think I could easily spend every holiday for the rest of my life at DLR. Which is exactly why we're going to Japan this time, and why we went to Mexico for our honeymoon. To do something different!
