I've been lurking on here for over a year and now get to plan yippee. I can't decide if our family (me DH DS7 DS4) should go in Oct or Nov next year. The 2 weeks to choose from 10/27-11/3 or 11/24-12/1. Here's the reasons for both I've come up with.

Historically the kids are off school the last thurs & fri in Oct and of course the other is Thanksgiving. Probably leaving early on either Fri and power driving from st louis to get there on Sat. If we could get good deals on airfare we'd do that on Fri or Sat of these weeks. I know the Sat after Thanksgiving would be crowded and probably the Sunday but the week after Thanksgiving would be slow.

The boys would love the Halloween decorations probably more than the Christmas but I'd like the Christmas better and who am I kidding this trip is for me!!! If going in Nov DH & I anniv is 11/20 and the boys birthdays are the 24th & 30th. They will then be 9 & 6. But having the celebrations a little early isn't a big deal they just wouldn't get the 'it's my birthday' pins.

So my questions are: Would there be any airline specials for the Fri or Sat after Thanksgiving? I know obviously not for the busiest travel days of the year on Wed or Sunday but is there a place to go to see historic fares for dates? I'd really prefer flying if we could get reasonable fares.
Does it matter if it isn't exactly their birthdays/our anniv.? Could we tell CM's were here now celebrating all the happenings a few weeks early? Does pixie dust fly early or only on the exact date of special occasions?
Is the weather much different? I hate hot weather but low to mid 80' would be ok. 60's would be great with me but the boys would like to swim some, could they do that the end of Nov?
Are there codes that come out these times. Obviously not the Sat after Thanks but value season starts that Sunday. How about around Halloween?

Sorry this is long but whooopppeeee, I get to actually plan now!!! I've been waiting for YEARS and now the questions are spewing forth. Thanks in advance for all the help and thanks to all who have asked questions previously that I needed answered.

For the past two years we have went directly after the Disney Marathon. The hotels are full with true runners and they are busy doing the race then they leave soon after. Since this is a big disney event they do not have a bunch of cheere or dnace things going on that can clog up the pard. Stay away from Mrtin Lugher king day they offer special disc for fl residents and the parks are very full before and after.

I think the marathon is Jan 7

Get the meal plan and get your dinner res asap you can book 6 mos in advance.

We go all the time for thanksgiving weekend... and depending really it can be packed.. it varies for us sometimes when we go

Bumping since it's been awhile. I'm trying to research swa ding histories today. Thanks for more help. I'd love to go in November so both boys can get birthday pins but October is what hubby is thinking might be better to get specials.
Thanks
Angela

We went in oct. last year and loved it. Iwill side with your husband. The crowds will be a little less than around thanksgiving. Side note: If you do what DH wants, then you can plan the NEXT trip,The time you want to go.

My vote would be October. Great weather and lower crowds than November timeframe that you're thinking about.
