Right guys, I need my arm twisted. I'm eyeing up booking a holiday to WDW in September, but am having a little trouble convincing myself that I need to spend this money. I would love to take my mother to WDW as she's taken my sister and me on so many holidays through the years (even when money's been a bit tight) and was saying a while back that she wasn't sure when she'd next go to Disney, as she didn't have anyone to go with. I was looking at DLP, but somehow the idea seems to have evolved into WDW. I wonder how that happened
I'm a student (hence money being a bit of an issue), but I have some money saved up from various sources and am hopefully getting a reasonably paid summer job (I won't book until I find out for certain). Also the issues with the dollar would work in our advantage.
I know we'd have a great time, and I'd love to do this for my mother, as I don't get to spend that much one to one time with her any more, but I guess I just want to have someone else tell me to go. That's not weird is it?

So, please, convince me :goodvibes

Go, go go...................is that all you need;)

What a lovely gift for your mother :)

just to make you feel better go!!!!!!

just to make you feel better go!!!!!!
I think it's lovely to think about taking your mum.

Go for it. I am sure you and your mum will have a ball :thumbsup2

I think it is a wonderful idea
Go for it if you can

Thank you everyone! I guess I just needed a shove to convince me to go for it. Let's hope I get this job for the summer, so I can afford it. Now I've just got to convince myself we need to stay on site :rotfl:

Thanks again guys!:goodvibes

Go for it and on site as well, the transportation Disney runs is very very useful. As has bene posted elsewhere Expedia are doing 6th night free at most WDW value and moderate resorts.

a few years ago I took my Mum on a caribbean cruise as a surprise gift to thank her for something she'd done for me, it was really lovely and she really appreciated it. The look on her face made up for the months of scrimping and saving I had to do and it was a really special trip. You CAN do WDW 'on the cheap' and have a lovely time, I personally would set myself a realistic budget and shop around like crazy for the best deal on flights/accom/tickets etc.

There is no better way to spend money than on a trip to WDW

Thank you everyone, you're all great :goodvibes !

I've seen the Expedia deal and am eyeing it up with interest. I'm hoping to stay on site if at all possible (and I'm researching pretty much any means I can think of, short of strapping a couple of sea turtles to our feet  ) because, as you said Claire, the transportation alone is worth an awful lot (plus being in the World all the time is rather wonderful). I've just got to keep working on it, make sure I get this summer job (or, failing that, another one) and save until I'm blue in the face (not literally, of course).

Well, here's hoping!
