DH, DD4 and I will be in WDW in October
Currently have reservations at POFQ but are thinking about changing resorts.

DH wants to stay at CS (likes the pool, dig area and price)
I want to stay at GF (for proximity) but DH won’t pay :sad2:
I was then thinking about a tower room (for the view) in CR being you can walk to MK (a big plus for me) or hop on the monorail, but the décor just doesn’t appeal to me.
So do we stay moderate? Which one? Take a chance (and a bit of a price increase) with the CR? Is it even worth it? Or just switch to the GF and hope DH doesn’t notice the bill? :rolleyes1

BTW we will be spending the majority of our time in the MK (DD’s fave) and we plan on attending MNSSHP, dinner at 1900 Park Fare, Wonderland Tea Party or Grand Adventures in Cooking.

Any guidance is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

What about the Wilderness Lodge? The resort has a boat to the MK and is very nice. They also have a fabulous pool, the geyser that goes off every hour and Whispering Canyon is so fun to eat at. This hotel is way cheaper than the GF too. We stayed here when DS was in MK mode and it was extremely enjoyable.

Sorry, I meant to add that we've stayed at a tower room in the Cont. I also didn't like the decor here and was pretty unimpressed overall by this hotel. We even had a great view of the castle but I still liked WL better and the cost difference is unbelievable.

At the age your daughter is I also recommend the MK resorts. Monorail is great because of the convenience but we stayed at the WL last October and it was also great. The rooms are smaller that the monorail resort rooms but the price is also lower. If you are not scared of them, WL also has rooms with a queen for you and DH and a set of bunk beds. I'd think they may make the room seem marginally larger. The GF is great, as is the CR, and they can't be beaten for convenience. The Poly is nice too if you care for that type of decor. We have stayed in all and I'd recommend the WL or CR for the value. The wing rooms at the CR are not much more pricey than the WL rooms and give you the added benefit of a daybed in your room. Just my two cents.

Do you mind me asking about how much more GF standard room is say like AKL or WL rooms??? I have never asked and always just thought it was out of my price range to consider

GF starts at around $350 BC/YC and BWI $300.
Then the Poly and CR with start at a little over $240.
AK & WL are start at $199

Although you might want to check out mousesavers we have stayed at both the lodges for as little as $99. Thanks to the discount codes.

Personally, we loved our stay at POFQ! But that was our experience and not everyone is going to feel the same way. The only advise I can offer is to choose a resort that speaks to you and your family. A place that you can all agree on and think you would be happy staying at. After all the only one that needs to happy with the decision in the end is you and your family!

Sorry I wasn't more of a help! Good luck deciding!

i'd recommend the poly. the rooms are very spacious, you have the resort monorail, resort ferry, ttc monorail or ferry to go to MK (the path to the ttc is the same distance as the main lobby from many rooms), plus the ttc has the monorail to epcot (for even just a nice ride in the evening). you can easily walk (or monorail) to the GF for your events there. it's a very relaxing atmosphere. you can see the castle from the pool, watch the fireworks at night from the beach, watch the electric water parade. i love being able to hop over to the mk for a quick ride and an ice cream. to me, location is so important, especially with little kids (mine are 3 and 5). enjoy deciding! you can't go wrong no matter where you stay.

Thanks to all for the advice. We've decided to knock out GF, CR, and CS. Now I am torn between WL (don't know why I never thought of it) and POFQ. Then there's always the Poly (still can't get away from the convenience of the monorail)..... decisions.....decisions....and only 7 months to go.

We loved our stay at the Contemporary. We stayed in the garden wings and it was wonderful. Cheaper than the tower by far. We did stay at the Polynesian and it was wonderfully convenient but it was pricey. WL is beautiful and we plan to stay there someday since it is a cheaper deluxe. I would go with either WL or a garden wing room at the CR...you can't beat the walkway to MK or the monorail running thru your resort.

We love CSR!! Check out my CSR website below for pics, links and info.

I justed book GF garden view room using AAA. My rate is 333.00 night including tax. It's worth joing AAA just for discount. It was 55.95 to join for individual membership.
We've stayed at CR tower and I really liked it, but my hubby did not. Being able to walk to mk and then being first stop on monorail is a BIG plus!!

But then we stayed at GF last year and all loved it. :flower:

The pool area alone is worth a stay at CSR! :flower:

ok... silly question of the day....

What does TTC stand for ?... brain is just not catching on ! Thanks

Buzz2001, great site....thanks, now I'll have to put CS back on the list!
How are the buses going back and forth between CS and MK/GF?
Last year we did the BC and I have to admit I am very impatient with waiting for buses and making multiple stops.
