Hi all!

Could you please help me out?
I was able to reserve a site at the Fort in August, for a short trip.
We have a pop-up and a mutt that we love to take.

Could you please recommend loops for our stay?

Thanks!:)

I can't recommend a loop, but did want you to be aware that you will not be able to leave the dog in your popup during the day, you will have to leave him/her at the kennel, and you are responsible for walking him/her. You can only leave your dog in a hardsided trailer/motorhome.

What if the dog was kept in a pet cage/crete while the owners were gone? Wonder if this would be acceptable?

Thanks,
I was planning to put her in the kennel when we leave the property, but I did wonder about what drafthorse said.

All input is appreciated.

I don't think you can leave them in a kennel in a softside, I think it is the noise - barking - in a softside. The rule is not leaving them in a softside. Sorry.

I know the rule is no pets in soft sides but when we were there in June this year we heard dogs barking from a soft side in loop 800. We have a 5th wheel and we leave the Tv on so they dont bark, but if they do its not to bad.

Just because it's done doesn't make it right. Upon arrival, campers with pets sign a paper with Disney's rules re. pets (has a picture of pluto on it). No pets unattended in tents or pop ups. It never says pets are okay in a crate or cage. People have been "evicted" or at least made to kennel their pets because the barking in a pop up or tent bothered other guests. I look at it as one of those rules which really isn't hard to follow and makes for better neighbors in the campground.

I don't want to offend anyone (ftwildernessguy's disclaimer) but I can't tell you how often I have heard TV's and radios coming from MH and TT and the dogs inside barking away. My dog at least isn't fooled into thinking he is not alone just because the radio is on.

Not planning to leave our pooch in the camper...

Back to the original question...Please help me ask for the better loops for pets.
I have stayed at the 800 loop, but would like other suggestions.

Thanks! :)

My dogs are not fooled by the TV/Radio either, they just like to watch tv while we are gone, they have their favorite programs.

A "best loop" question is always a matter of opinion. We were in the 500 loop ( preferred, pet overflow ) in April and were perfectly happy. But, the 500 loop isn't near anything. :rotfl2:

Yes, you are right "best" is indeed a matter of opinion... but that's what I want! I want opinions.

We stayed at the 800 loop and I did not like it a lot. I think that we have also stayed at the 500 (about 10 years ago, tenting) and I did like that loop.

Please help me out on finding other pet loops.

Thanks! :)

Ok, what did you not like about 800, that may help "pin down" what loops you would like.
Other than the size(800 is the largest loop I think) my family really does like 800, for us it is close to the pool, the movie, Meadows Trading Post and to us the walk to Settlement doesn't seem long.

We have also stayed in the 1600-1900 area when we didn't get a preffered site and had no problems there, it is a bit far to Settlement, but the buses don't bother me.

We like the 300 loop. I believe it is the closest pet loop to the settlement/marina area. The meadows complex isnt much farther in the other direction. There is a large pet walk area along the canal. The comfort station is located in the middle of the loop with the main entrance located at the front of the loop but it has a couple shortcuts from stratagic points thru out the loop for easy access. Plently of ground cover for privacy between sites. On early to bed nights we could hear the music from the water parade at the beach. We always request 300 but have on occasion been placed in the 500 loop. It is directly across the street so location wise its the same distance to major places within the campground. It does have a couple sites that are on hair pin turns...,..I know this because we arrived late once and were given one of these sites. After jockying around and many helpful neighbors we successfully got in at which point one neighbor said you are the third rig to try to get into that site today....and the only one to succeed!

I've been debating over loop 800 or 300. Loop 200 is my favorite because its so close to Pioneer Hall but its not a pet loop soooo loop 300 sounds like I'm going to have to try it!! Anyhow I just called and requested loop 300.

Know I just can't wait!!

Thanks drafthorsecrazy, by the way I don't have any draft horses but I have a Quarter Horse & Arabian so I'm just horse crazy!

Thanks!

When we stayed at the 800 loop, it was also in the summer and I only recall one comfort station (in a large loop of campers) and a long walk to the bus stop (maybe I'm wrong). Also, if I recall correctly it was closer to the water (and I guess in the heat of June, it felt kind of swampy).

I may be wrong in my recollection, I guess I would like closer comfort stations
and access to the Fort's ammenities, but you know what? I'm just happy that we are going for a weekend.

Thanks :)
If you have any comments or suggestions, please keep them coming.

I personally love the 1600 loop...close to the pool, Meadows and it has 2 bathrooms..one on each side. I know they are shared baths, but it still has 2 w/i walking distance . The sites are also bigger than the 300 loop which I found very small and close together.
