Pretty much all my life, when I have purchased beer,,it was never around long enough to get stale.

There is a beer that I like , "Spaten's Oktoberfest", they only make it in Sept and Oct each year. The beer comes inna dark bottle,,,so here's the question,,

If I purchase the beer now and keep it in the refrig , will it keep til Jan 2 without going stale ???

As long as it is not refridgerated you do not need to keep it cold. Just keep it out of direct sunlight an overly warm places. If you buy it cold, then you should keep it cold. Most beer should keep for about 6 months with out fear of skunking.

I don't know the answer to your question, but I'd love to help you find out.

Right off the World Wide Web....

"A general rule of thumb is that beers from large breweries will have a shelf life of approximately 8 to 12 months if refrigerated properly and kept from direct light, or 4 to 6 months at room temperature. Keep in mind that these shelf lives are from time of bottling, not time of purchase, and plan accordingly to ensure that you have the best-tasting beer available."

Have one for me Frank.

When I was a younger we bought some coors light off a guy he said it was old but we didn't care. Well it tasted like applesauce. We still drank it.pirate:

When DH and I got married, one of his buddies was a beer distributor. He supplied our reception and we had SO much beer leftover (and trust me, we gave it a go at the reception) that we couldn't park in the garage for a while. I believe our last 12 pack of Sam Adams was opened shortly after Halloween, and we were married July 4th. It was fine - and it had been stored in a garage.

Like someone else said, as long as it's kept out of light and at a constant temperature it will be fine. Light and change of temperature is a beer's worst enemy. My boyfriend is not an expert, but he knows a pretty decent amount about beer and he lives with his cousin who home brews. He's had beers that have lasted 3 or 4 years and were fine because they were at a constant room temperature. I'd go on and on about it (I'm typing as he is telling me this on the phone. :rotfl:), but you don't need a long explanation. Hope this helps!

Beer? Did someone say beer?

I concur with the cool/dark/constant temp deal. I do a little bartending for a local college during football season. We buy the beer in July and don't use the last until mid-late November and it's fine.

BTW, that's a nice beer. Isn't that one sold in the Germany Pavilion? For some reason I thought I stumbled over and had one on my way around the world the other week... but it was kinda blurry.

Make that the "memory" is a little blurry for whatever reason. Also, I did research and discovered that the Spaten is the beer I've been getting in Germany and its FANTASTIC.

Just a thought... if WDW sells the Oktoberfest all year round then surely there's a way to get it, right?

Oh ya.
Frank, don't bother calling Deb. The beer will be all gone by the time she gets there because I'll find out what site they're planning to put you in and I'll meet you there. Who says you have to get setup right away? Top that.

If we arrived during his shift, we could bring Lou a cold one inna brown bag,:thumbsup2

and no, I'm not talk'n bout the brown bag that you put on someones porch and set fire to it as you run and hide in the bushes to watch, :lmao:

Ok, I'm coming out. This is very difficult for me. And to look at me, I look almost normal, but in my 9 Disney years, I've never had a bottle, or can, of beer. But if that brown bag was filled with apple filled donuts, I'd overdose on those. So Deb, you can have my beers. I just wanted to meet Frank & Denise before you did.
