Need help and advice about restaurants

We narrowed our choices down to:

MGM: Pizza Planet and 50's Cafe
AK: Flame Tree and Tusker House
MK: Cosmic Rays, Columbia Harbour and Pecos Bill
Epcot: Cantina de san Angel, Tangerine Cafe and Yakatori

1. Are these places good choices? Any other recommendations at each park?

2. Does any of these places have meal programs? Are there any other meal programs available?

3. Are meals generally big enough to share if we aren't big eaters and if we order an extra side? What places DO have large portions that will allow us to share.

4. I heard on a board people saying they order from the kids menu for light eaters. Do they allow you to do that and do they charge extra? What generally is the difference between a kids meal and an adult meal? (i.e. burger, chicken strips)

5. What are these vouchers I hear people mentioning and how EXACTLY do they work? Where are they good for? (sit down restaurants or counter service places?) Can a party of 3 adults and 2 kids use 2-3 vouchers or do we need to use one each?

Thanks for any advice/help you can give. Trying to make this a special trip for all without bankrupting us.

a)?I have never eaten at Pizza Planet, but the kids will enjoy the arcade, if not the food.
COLOR=deeppink]We adore 50's Primetime Cafe...good food, good service, and lots of fun! We usually do a late lunch, so it isn't so hectic.[/COLOR]
We also love the pizzas at Mama Melrose, and would opt for that instead of Pizza Planet as far as quality.
b) both Flametree and TuskerHouse are wonderful, and 2 of our favorite counter service restaurants in all of WDW! If they are still doing the meal tickets there, do it... it saves a lot. You can buy them at guest relations at the front of the park, or any of the counterservice restauarants.
c) We really like Cosmic Ray's, and Sunny Eclipse is a real hoot! Pecos Bills is good, but tends to be crowded at almost any time of day. We haven't eaten at Columbia Harbor house, as the menu isn't appealing to us, but it is a nice airconditioned place to take a break... also, I have heard they have sweet iced tea... and that is incentive enough for me! These are probably your best bets for counterservice in the MK. If you want a sitdown meal, I would suggest Liberty Tree Tavern for lunch.
d) We are not fond of the food at Cantina San Angel, and far prefer to go to the sitdown counterpart. The kids will love the interior of San Angel Inn, and the food is far better. Since none of us like Morroccan food, Tangerine Cafe is not even a consideration. Yakatori House is nice, but we like eating at Tempura Kiku inside, better.

2. Does any of these places have meal programs? Are there any other meal programs available?
Animal Kingdom has meal ticket vouchers that you can buy for $11 for adults and $6 for kids at guest relations of any of the counterservice places. It includes tickets for a meal and large drink (adult), kids meal and smaller drink (kids), a bottled soda or water and either an icecream or popcorn. We did this last visit, and it ended up saving us about $18 overall! Wish the other parks offered this plan!

3. Are meals generally big enough to share if we aren't big eaters and if we order an extra side? What places DO have large portions that will allow us to share.
Yes, we have found that most portions are large enough to share. Tusker House and Flametree most especially![/COLOR

4. I heard on a board people saying they order from the kids menu for light eaters. Do they allow you to do that and do they charge extra? What generally is the difference between a kids meal and an adult meal? (i.e. burger, chicken strips)
Yes, they will allow you to order from the kids menu, but if you are at a buffet or all you can eat place, and opt to do the buffet of all you can eat meal, you will have to pay the adult price. As for the selection on the kids menu... it tends to be limited, including, in most cases... mac and cheese, chicken fingers, hamburgers, hot dogs, and pasta with spaghetti sauce. Not really very interesting for an adult, at all. In fact, my DD who is 8 gets bored with it after the 1st day or so![/COLOR

5. What are these vouchers I hear people mentioning and how EXACTLY do they work? Where are they good for? (sit down restaurants or counter service places?) Can a party of 3 adults and 2 kids use 2-3 vouchers or do we need to use one each Other than the coupons that can be purchased at AK, I am not overly familiar with the vouchers. I would assume you would need one voucher per person, though!

Happy eating, and don't be afraid to be a little adventurous. WDW has some great places to eat... give 'em a try!

MGM: Pizza Planet and 50's Cafe

We've eaten at 50's PTP. The food is good - nothing special. But both times we've gone, the entertainment value has been HUGE. We've had great servers, who had us laughing at the other tables, and at ourselves

AK: Flame Tree and Tusker House

Not a lot of exciting food at AK in my opinion...

MK: Cosmic Rays, Columbia Harbour and Pecos Bill

We always eat at Columbia Harbour House - its a good non-burger counter service. Peco Bills is fine if you want burgers...

Epcot: Cantina de san Angel, Tangerine Cafe and Yakatori

Have eated at Cantina and Yakatori. Both were good - we really liked Yakatori's menu
