:surfweb: Hello Everyone,

Sorry in advance if this post is going to be too long. i have a couple of questions and i have seen the other posts where you all have given fabulous advice. so i am also asking for some. i will give all my details so that you all can help me .

i am going to orlando with my husband for the FIRST TIME !!! (NO KIDS).
i will be flying into the orlando airport and we have booked A CAR.

my travel dates would be 1st of july to 5th july.

I just have 4 days in orlando.
what i need help with is :-

1. ACCOMODATION- where should we stay, near disney world or near universal?

2. should we stay onsite or offsite. if offsite do you know of any good hotels.i am not looking at very expensive hotels, but just one which safe and nice. since we will be just going there to sleep.

3. Which are the parks that we should concentrate on and should make our priority.

4. TICKETS- I have got this site which is selling tickets at a decent price, say 3-4 dollars less than the actual website.
here is the website
disneyworld disneygo.
PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF THIS SITE IS LEGIT SO THAT I CAN BOOK BOTH MY UNIVERSAL AND DISNEY WORLD TICKETS!!

Thanks in advance for reading up and helping me !!! ;)

Where are you going to spend the majority of your time - Disney or Universal. I like staying on-site at WDW just to get the total Disney experience. If you stay on-site at Universal, you automatically get FOTL privileges which many people seem very happy about. If you stay off-site you will also have to pay for parking unless you stay at a hotel which has shuttle service to the parks (have never used, don't know reliability).

Go to the Universal site to check out ticket prices. Right now they have a buy two day get three days free for $99. Not a bad deal. I compared Universal ticket prices and the Universal site was actually cheaper than the other site's prices. Do your homework before purchasing. I've seen Maple Leaf Tickets advertised on allearsnetwork and I may be purchasing my tickets through them. They were about $25 cheaper than Disney's site.

As far as parks to concentrate on, that depends on what you want to do. Get the park hoppers and you can do two or more parks a day rather than just one. DD/Pleasure Island is a great place for two adults/no kids to spend their evenings. My DH and I went to DD every night of our stay before DS's.

Hope this gets you started.... :moped:

thanks , you are so right .. universal has the ticket which fits my budget. i will just be buying 1 day ticket and it lets me print at home plus i get 3 days free with it . awesome deal....

thanks for the heads up on that.

i did look up the disney resort since i will be spending 1 and a half days there. but i dont think for 1 and a half day its worth it.

can you please suggest offsite hotels for me please... since i will be shuttling between disney and orlando for the few days that we are there...
or what i can do is book 2 days at disney resort and 1 day offiste.

whats yr suggestions ?

I'm glad the universal advice helped you with your tickets. As far as offsite hotels, I'm not familiar with any since we always stay on-site. This year we changed our arrival plans after making our reservations and we are staying one night at the Fairfield Inn at LBV but this will mainly be for sleeping, possibly visiting DTD. We are staying two nights at the Holiday Inn Universal but have never been there before. I would visit the Orlando Hotel/Attractions section on this board and see if you can get some ideas on offsite hotels. Many are mentioned everyday. You might want to look at the LBV hotels since they are close to Disney and I think only about 15 minutes from Universal.

Hope this helps :sunny:

thanks Stich, as recommended by you, i have already posted a thread in the orlando attractions. the problem is because there are so many its impossible to know which would be the best. we already have booked a car in orlando since we have so less time. we dont want to spend half the time in shuttles.

i am also thinking of bidding on priceline .. what do you think.. since you have already been there can you tell me which areas i should be interested in staying .. i was thinking of kissimmee, international drive... any other locations... :surfweb:

We have stayed off-site 3 nights in Orlando (on arrival/departure trips to WDW) to save money on the Disney rates. We have ALWAYS booked our hotels through Priceline & have gotten GREAT results. We've stayed in 4* hotels for as little as $75!!! I can't remember the ones we've been to, but I would recommend checking Priceline.

Also, to get an idea of bids accepted through Priceline, check www.biddingfortravel.com - DH always goes there first before he places a bid. Like I said, we've had great results.

Good Luck! :thumbsup2

can you help me with the areas that you bid for on priceline since i am going for the first time, what areas should we bid for... :thumbsup2

We usually look in the Downtown Disney area. We did stay one night right next door to Universal (our wedding night), but I really don't remember the hotel. DH usually bids on 3* or better & gets good deals.
